Spiritual food for today: Psalm 121

Thoughts on this verse: isn't it wonderful to know we serve an EVER PRESENT LORD, a wonderful loving merciful God, the One that cares deeply for His people and keeps us even when we don't deserve it. How wonderful are thy works and His loving kindness.

Prayer: thank you heavenly Father for your love, your mercy, peace and grace. Thank you for loving me so much that you sent your Son Jesus Christ for my redemption. I cover myself and my family in the blood of the Holy Lamb of God, that you shall preserve our going out and coming in forever more, thank you for protecting and leading and guiding us in your truth and righteousness through the ministry of He the Holy Spirit. I praise, honor and glorify you in Jesus name. Amen

The sole purpose of this book is to bring honor and glory to God through our obedience, love, and growth in Christ. In this book, I will share Scripture backed up growth sessions through the word of God, which is the Bible. We will learn many things about God, what pleases him and what he expects from us as his children, as co-heirs with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the King of Glory. The Lord has instructed us to be a light in the world and through this book, I hope we can all grow and to learn to live properly as Godly kin in an ungodly perishing world and to know that our kingdom is in heaven with the Lord, not on earth. We will learn how to be more loving and less critical and how not to live as hypocrites along with many, many other things. As we proceed, let us grow together, learn together, train together, pray, and exalt our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by truly living by faith and following his examples by doing what is right and honorable in his name. As mentioned earlier, every session will be backed up by scripture and not just some rambling on. May God bless you, open up your mind and heart as you read along to grow in him, may he be your strength and provider. Remember God is our Source, all else are mere resources.

As I was studying this morning, this specific sentence stood out to me, allot of us as God's children in Christ want to fit in with the company we keep, so we find ourselves getting caught up with their lifestyle and ways just so we can "fit in" or not be the "odd ball" of the group. So ultimately we are trying to please people instead of standing firm with the Lord our God. This should not be for God's Holy chosen people who have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior and supposed to have put to death the old us along with our deceitful desires and put on the new self that is being made new as we abide in Christ the Lord. If people find you as the odd ball or the black sheep of the group , "praise the Lord!" You are not here to please man, you belong to the Lord and answer to him and your actions, ways and lifestyle should be reflecting him, not this world (people who choose not to live for the Lord). In Matthew 10:22 Jesus says: You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved... I rather STAND OUT and be despised because of who I love and live for (Jesus Christ) than to FIT IN (Matthew 16:26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?) and displease/deny my God my lifestyle and choosing nonbelievers friends/family over him, ultimately commiting Idolatry...

One of the best decisions I've ever made in my life was falling in love with Jesus and out of love with the world, I no longer live to please the world or my flesh, the life I live is to serve the Lord through obedience and faith and love, he is the love of my life. To me, that is true worship, loving the Lord thy God with all my heart soul and being and making every part of my being obedient to him, no matter what. Can't serve two masters and seek to follow the Lord while still trying to please the flesh and world... He says If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?... He also says be holy as he is holy.. that means denying yourself worldly pleasures that are against God and giving yourself to him fully and wholeheartedly allowing the Holy Spirit to build you into the Holy being we're supposed to be. Not continuing in the darkness he has freed us from. If you feel lost in your ways, seek him and he can and will free you from your strongholds if you truly desire HIM over everything and everyone else.
