Star is a sexually liberated force. She has a very confident lifestyle style that is tested when she moves back to the rez for the summer. What's a Star Woman to do when she finds herself catching feelings for the Moon and a hungry Fox.

Sexual liberation in native spaces be wilding and making that comeback. I know many Star Women sexually empowered and it's beautiful. I've noticed many older folks be side eyeing that life style but that's that colonialism making us look down on it. Some people could use an or**sm or two 🥴🥴🥴 Anyways, love safe and know your boundaries with your partners.

For me, I need ya to understand that I'm pro hoe life but not the fetishization of native women. Like Pocahontas from Disney is whack. Native Women are sexy and powerful but not in the gaze of those who want to use that against us.

Star Woman just wants to reconnect with what her grandma taught her in her youth. Star moves back to the rez from the city to find her roots and reclaim her ancestral knowledge but is always in a rut when alcohol and boys are tossed in her path.

Butterfly Girl : Can I stay with you, Mama?

Red Woman : Soon, baby. Mama gonna get us a mansion where we can be princesses forever. 🥰🥰🥰

Red has her issues and flaws. She's trying her best to smarten up. She carries so much medicine that it attracts the worst people. When she was a teen and began to flourish, Red gets swept up by an older man who only took from her and left her pregnant. Red Woman has big dreams for her and her daughter, now will Sun be able to provide the light in Red's life that will be different than all the others.

Sun : Please, don't leave. I promise I'll get sober for us.

Red Woman : It don't work like that, baby. You gotta do this work for yourself... This is your journey now.

Love and addiction is messy. It really is heartbreaking seeing so many relatives become someone unrecognizable or completely lost to addiction... but we do recover and are worthy of love.

EDIT: For those just joining us, this comic is inspired by my personal life post Standing Rock and from all the stories and people I've met there. I met my husband towards the end and whew, was that a whirlwind back then. We all good now but this comic was created as a way for me to process everything. Now that we're in a good spot, I can create this comic in a good way for everyone to share with.

Sky Woman has one of the most beautiful stories that gets us and the Hero Twins into the present day. If you know her traditional story, you know how it goes. 🥺🥺🥺

These two go hard

These two relationship is thicker than blood and stronger than any love. They both sworn into their society together. It's been their dream since childhood.

Moon : That night, we screamed into the darkness and I when I looked at you, I saw the light for the first time.

Star and Moon hold that night sky energy and it can get real messy. But rez love is hard when that unresolved trauma catches up.

Sun : You see that woman? I'm gonna marry her.

Moon : Bro, you don't even know her name.

From the moment he saw Red Woman singing to the rez dogs, he knew she was the one.

I love their story so much. Most non natives have a romanticized version of us and can't see us as present living people. Well, I'm here to show the messiness and healing that comes with today's Native love.
