About other women’s business.

I know I have personally gotten so many comments about why I lost weight and how I’m “supposed” to act or dress.

Truth is-
I curse like a sailor, never wear underwear, and will A L W A Y S say yes to a cheeseburger.

I never thought I’d be fit. I never thought I would “be enough”. I never thought people would see me for me.

Until I found my people.
Until I knew that I was so worthy of being all of me, and it didn’t matter what other people thought of me. Because those who matter to me will always see and respect my truth. I stopped worrying what other people thought about me.

I found what works for me, I bust my ass

I fought my way out of struggle, and if you don’t like the way I think, talk, or act- here’s your permission slip.
You don’t have to.

And if you’re reading this, and you’ve experienced this kind of criticism too- I see you, and there is always a seat at my table for you.

Change the people you surround yourself with. You can literally do anything you put your heart and mind to, and no one hates down... they always hate up.

Perfection of effort is not required, by the way. It is the consistency of attempting to work these tools that brings the progress. It’s like anything else. If I want to tone muscle, lifting a ten-pound weight a few times every day will move me toward my goal much quicker than hoisting a fifty-pound barbell once a week. Building a fitness habit starts with the behavior change, which begs the question: Am I ready to make a change? If the answer is yes, it’s time to move on to three steps that lead to behavior change: contemplation, action and maintenance. These steps utilize the below four tools that optimize our ability to navigate this journey:

1. Use small wins along the way. These are benchmarks that show you’re making changes and heading in the right direction.
2. Live through the vicarious experiences of others. Using others’ success, trials and tribulations give you real-world examples to follow.
3. Understand your current emotional state. We are all emotional beings. Tapping into who you are, what you struggle with and past experiences will give you insight into your current struggles and required support.
4. Accept verbal and social persuasion. Create a network of people that will support you, push you and celebrate your small wins. Sometimes, we need others to inspire us to keep going. That’s okay
