#3: SELF-FULFILLING PROPHECY

Our beliefs influence our behavior.

When you do a task and think "this is too difficult, I can't do it" or "diri na lang jud ko kutob (this is the best of my abilities, i cannot achieve any further)", have you noticed that you can't actually do it? It feels like our body and mind just stop exerting effort. Have you experienced that? Because I did. Not just once, twice, but a LOT of times.

That's Self-Fulfilling Prophecy. It happens when our expectations become true because we believe it, resulting to behaviors aligning with the belief (Ackerman, 2021). This can happen consciously or subconsciously.

Yes, our negative thoughts can become our reality. But remember, there are two poles to eveything. The positive ones can be our reality too.

Self-fulfilling prophecies do not always come true, but they are powerful. So, when you have goals in mind, believe and act on it; manifest and do something; dream and achieve.

However recently, in the province, I have learned that lesser social interaction is fine, cutting down expenses isn’t bad, even fewer access to luxury goods can have benefits.

Don’t get me wrong. I still crave for long quirky conversations, road trips, and splurging for myself every now and then. I just found happiness in simpler things.

That’s why this time, I am ready to lose.
