Happy Early Childhood Educators Day! ⭐️
Our educators are the source of our mission as an organisation to empower every human being to live their extraordinary life 🌅
Each and every day our dedicated educators show up to make a difference in the lives of every child; going to the moon and back to make the world a better place through their love of learning 🚀
For these contributions we celebrated our educators and they received many gifts of appreciation from both colleagues and families.
Thank you extraordinary educators for all that you do! 💛
As Children’s Book Week 2023 comes to an end here at Being, we wanted to look back at the fun we have had celebrating and exploring the world of books 📚 🎉
Although costumes aren’t the most important part of Children’s Book Week, the effort educators put into showing up for our children in a fun way this week certainly captures their extraordinary dedication. They have truly gone above and beyond to embody to magic of books and bring them to life ✨
Beyond the photos educators also explored many books with the children from old favourites to new releases and created many extraordinary book-inspired learning experiences for the children 🔍
Engaging with books in the early years is fundamental to children’s development. It encourages imagination, creativity, language acquisition, cognitive growth, the development of reading and comprehension skills; as well as a lifelong love of learning 🧒
We are already looking forward to next year!

Last week the phenomenal team at Being Lake Haven celebrated Superhero Day 🦸
There was lots of learning and fabulous fun to be had with the extraordinary educational experiences our exceptional educators prepared! What a super fun day! 🤩
We have been celebrating Pyjama Day all week at Being Pymble! 💛
The aim of Pyjama Week is to raise as much funds as possible and awareness for The Pyjama Foundation's Love of Learning Program which is offered to children in foster care - Australia's lowest performing educational group.
Just a reminder that on Monday the 10th the Australian Government increased the Child Care Subsidy - now more families will be eligible and those that already are will likely receive an increase in their entitlements 🤩
Here is some more information on the changes but please do not hesitate to get in touch with us here at Being if there is anything else we can assist with 💛
Recently our centres have been celebrating NAIDOC Week 2023 with the theme of For our Elders 💛
Across every generation, our Elders have played, and continue to play, an important role and hold a prominent place in our communities and families.
They are cultural knowledge holders, trailblazers, nurturers, advocates, teachers, survivors, leaders, hard workers and our loved ones.
Here are some snaps of extraordinary educational experiences our educators have created for the children here at Being 📷

With quality care, we build foundations that enable children to achieve their full potential. Being formally known as Future Stars Early Learning, was established in 1998.
Acknowledging the value of play in life. ♡
At Being our approach is a little different from other preschool, childcare and kindergartens. We don’t just educate and care for your child - we nurture the responsible, kind and powerful leaders of today and tomorrow. All with love and care. ♡
Anxiety or fear is part of our survival instinct and is a normal part of growing up. When faced with a threatening situation, our brains and bodies respond by getting us ready to ‘flea the scene’. What can you do to help guide your child through anxious moments?
♡ Focus on managing anxiety - not eliminating it.
♡ Don’t avoid things just because they make your child anxious
♡ Express positive—but realistic, expectations
♡ Respect a child’s feelings, but don’t empower them
♡ Don’t ask leading questions
♡ Don’t reinforce the child’s fears
♡ Try to keep the anticipatory period short
Keep in mind the importance of saying 'yes' and embracing our children when they ask us for that extra goodnight hug, to read them another story, to be the last to let go when hugging, or to sit and play with them as they are only little once. 💛
At Being, we teach children about waste, farming, composting and more. Each child is empowered to be a custodian for their world.
Our educational approach is centred on individual empowerment and holistic development of your child. To guide this development, we work with you to set goals across all development domains - social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and language.
Overusing the word ‘no’ with our children causes it to lose its power and encourages rebellious behaviour. Read our top alternative ways to being a naysayer.

Less toys = More play
Toys have a habit of taking over the playroom. It starts out innocently enough and before you know it, you’re inundated with too many toys. The secret to toy sorting is to group them into categories like transport, arts/crafts, blocks, kitchen/food, dress ups, puzzles and so on.
By minimising the amount of toys your child has, their play will become more creative and their imaginations and resourcefulness will develop. Another bonus is that their attention span will continue to get longer and their desire for screen time will diminish as they start to really enjoy playing. And tidying up becomes an easier task which is always a good thing
The first few days at an early education care setting can be an emotional experience for both child and parent, particularly during drop-offs. Our educators have a lot of experience helping families with this transition and they will be on hand to help both you and your child get set up for the adventure.
From the moment your child steps through our doors, they discover that they are capable of anything. Countless learning experiences inspired by our unique child-led educational program allows your child’s individual personality to shine through. Our caring and knowledgeable educators are with your child every step of the way as they discover, laugh and grow.
”Children are born to explore and test the boundaries of what is possible and appropriate. But they will always need and desire a predictable home base.”
- Sarah Boyd
Create a positive home environment by using lots of cuddles, kisses and modelling the behaviour you want to imbue in them and of course, most importantly do it with L♡VE.
An important part of a child’s development is learning self-help skills. As parents, it’s so easy to jump in and help when there are time constraints and getting out the door is a priority. So, allowing some extra time for them to practice, we can help develop their independence and the development of strong self-help skills. Try implementing some of these suggestions:
☆ Breaking down self-help skills into smaller steps can really help. Practice doing a small part of a task each day as it is easier to learn new skills in smaller sections.
☆ Using visual schedules for the steps involved are very helpful for visual learners and can take the nag factor out of the equation.
☆ Routines and consistency with the words and signs you use will help the tasks be mastered faster. Be sure to your your instructions short and simple.
☆ Allow enough time for your child to practice the skills without being rushed. Practising skills like putting on shoes over the weekend will help as there is plenty of time.
Who can relate? 🙋🏼♀️
“Every child can learn - just not the same things on the same day or in the same way.”
- George Evans
A wonderful reminder that our children are unique and they will learn at their own pace. ♡
