BOARD EXAM RESULTS | MCU-CMT scores 94.44% in MTLE August 2023

Manila Central University – College of Medical Technology victors 94.44% passing rate for first timers at recently held Medical Technologist Licensure Examination last August 12 and 13, 2023 respectively.

With over 5,401 aspiring RMTs, only 3,982 hurdled the exam. MCU-CMT performed highly with an overall passing rate of 84% vs. the national passing rate of 73.73%

Congratulations to our newly Registered Centralino Medical Technologists! May you all soar higher and be deeply rooted with your calls of humanitarian service.

Pursuant to Resolution No. 11 (S.2023), the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) informs the public the new documentary requirements starting the August 2023 schedule of the Medical Technologists Licensure Examination (MTLE):

𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁-𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿:

Degree/Course Requirement: Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, or Bachelor of Science in Public Health, or Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science

Documentary Requirements:

1. Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - issued Birth Certificate;
2. PSA - issued Marriage Contract/Certificate (for married female
applicants);
3. Transcript of Records (TOR), with scanned picture and remarks "For Board Examination Purposes"

𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀:

• Certificate of Completion of 12 months Refresher Course issued by the institution, OR
• Certificate of Attendance in accredited internship training laboratory signed by the Head of the Laboratory, stating that he/she has completed the rotation in the different sections indicating the length of training

The Certificate of Completion of 12 months Refresher Course shall bear the following:

1. Name of the Refresher taker
2. Inclusive date the course was taken
3. Module used and components of the module
4. Name of the school / accredited laboratory
5. Name and signature of the dean of the school / head of the laboratory

𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟐 | 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐇

On the 28th day of October, the volunteers from the College of Medical Technology went back to Barangay 143 to release the laboratory results of the different tests done on citizens last October 26, 2022. There was also a free consultation for the patients who needed a consult. The event was headed by Dean Ferdinand Mortel along with the faculty members and student volunteers from the MCU College of Medical Technology. Together with the test results, there were also goods and packages that were distributed to the citizens of the barangay.

We would like to thank Dean Mortel, Ms. Sheila Grace Martin, Barangay Officials of Brgy. 143, faculty members, sponsors, and to PHISMETS & PLASMA-COM who made this outreach possible. This initiative wouldn''t be possible without you all offering your time and effort for this event.

To Dr. Glenn Nathaniel Valloso, we would like to express our deepest gratitude for the help that you offered for our beloved citizens in Barangay 143. Your assistance was very much appreciated by all of us.

To celebrate the Medical Technology week, the PHISMETS MCU-Chapter has conducted FREE laboratory testing for the citizens of Barangay 143 in Caloocan City. The laboratory tests done are Urinalysis, Glucometer, and Blood typing. Thanks to our dear volunteers from the PHISMETS and PLASMA-COM volunteers and adviser, the faculty of the College of Medical Technology, and student volunteers from the college, we were able to cater to all the patients who wanted to participate in the event.

The PHISMETS organization shall always serve as a way for others to get the help and service that they deserve. We would like to express our deepest gratitude for the barangay members who willingly offered help and assisted us on the day of the event.

The Philippine Society of Medical Technology Students-MCU Chapter would like to thank our dear Centralinos who participated in our booth entitled, "BLOOD TYPE KITA: Know Your Blood Type For Free!". 𝟭𝟱𝟬+ 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 were given a chance to know their ABO and RH blood type and to have a groovy experience in today's tusukan! Thank you for your active and enthusiastic participation. 🧪

The successful event was led by Sir Eric Carpo, Mr. Michael Wesley Chen, Ms. Micah Manaid, Medical Technology Interns and Juniors, and MT Students from MCU-CMT Community.

The importance of knowing your blood type is to prevent the risk of you receiving an incompatible blood type at a time of need, such as during a blood transfusion or surgery. If two different blood types are mixed, it can lead to the clumping of blood cells which can be potentially fatal.
