Food and I are still having a momentπ
I thrifted these sweet little ramekins while on the hunt for a larger piece. I immediately knew what I was going to do with these... a play on *girl dinner*.
Each piece is unique, underglazed, and assembled after firing. Sort of like a ceramic collage. Each one will be fitted with a hanger to make displaying your piece on your wall possible.

Casita del Caracol is a symbolic piece. When I think of what brings me nostalgia, I am immediately transported to my childhood and the feeling of home. Memories from events and simple moments. The ordinary somehow being whimsical. I wanted to bring life to the places our memories are held. The house representative of the memory center where a flame burns eternally storing content to be triggered by a simple smell or quick glance. The snail is a play on my current body of work, bordering on childhood whimsy.

Very few projects do I sketch out. But this one is one of those that was sketched. I saw it clearly in my head. I knew how glazing was going to go. When I picked it up from the kiln, it may have been the first time something turned out exactly how I saw it in my mind's eye. As a ceramic artist at the whim of a kiln, that's huge.
Y'all... aren't these just the cutest!? I love when galleries involve children in the exhibits and I am beyond honored they chose my work to make it interactive for kids.

Be Our Guest is officially on viewβ¨
Last night was the official opening. You have until January 13th to experience it in person. I'm still processing everything, but I will say this year has granted me the opportunity to show in two smaller towns in South Carolina. The support for the arts in those communities and the way people show up to celebrate the arts deserves to be commended. As George Bernard Shaw said, "πππ‘βππ’π‘ πππ‘, π‘βπ πππ’πππππ π ππ ππππππ‘π¦ π€ππ’ππ ππππ π‘βπ π€ππππ π’πππππππππ"
See you tomorrow!

When I landed on my concept for this show, I knew I didn't want gallery tags on my table. I kept envisioning diner menus. I wanted viewers to feel immersed in the art. Pick up a menu and peruse the tablescape. Mediums are listed as ingredients. Designing this menu was a little break from the seriousness one can feel at the almost finish line of seeing a body of work to completion. I couldn't be happier with how they turned out. I am also thankful for helping bring my vision to life.

Blog | tennysoncorleyart This art is for the birds 26 Oct 2023 10:21 In January 2022, I answered a call for artist through South Carolina Audubon. The top of my bucket list, as an artist, has been to create a project with the Audubon Society, so hopes were high. And guess what....I landed the gig(and with no real public art...

I've been working away like a little production elf on my Holiday Collection. This season I'm leaning into Victorian dried fruits, figgy pudding, german pickles, and a sprinkling of cottagecore π all topped with my signature leopard slugs. Each ornament stands alone or can be cohesively hung as a set. Ornaments are adorned with vintage sourced ribbon or a soft, frayed velvet for a romantic, old world touch but can be switched to fit your holiday palette.
* releasing at Keenan Terrace Art in the Yard & Shain Gallery. Remaining ornaments will be available online*
