Wondering what Digital Marketing really is?

Digital marketing, also called online marketing, is the promotion of brands to connect with potential customers using the internet and other forms of digital communication. This includes not only email, social media, and web-based advertising, but also text and multimedia messages as a marketing channel. Essentially, if a marketing campaign involves digital communication, it's digital marketing.

SO to break that down:

- any ads that you see online, on social media, from business owners, influencers, creators, etc
- ads that pop-up during your YouTube videos, reel scrolling, etc
- emails from businesses
- text messages from business

There's tons of resources that you can take advantage of to learn what Digital Marketing is and a free resource that I take advantage of is from HubSpot. They have a FREE Social media marketing certificate that you can take to learn more about this online world.

When working from social media its very important to know WHY you are doing this as having a clear reason will help you in your journey in building a strong social media presence.

The best way to figure out WHY you want to establish a social media presence is to jot down your goals and why you want to grow on social media.

Think about your life and what kind of things you want to see in your future.

Example:

My WHY is to build a strong social media marketing business to provide for my family, show my daughters that they can achieve anything possible and provide value to those struggling with their social media platforms.

If you want to write a strong why think about your future. This will really help you in establishing a strong why.

Tips for picking out outfits for your content!

It can be tricky picking out clothes that you want to showcase on your socials, but it doesn't have to be!

Here's some tips to simplify the process:

1. Choose simple colours, maybe avoid prints for now so it's easier to piece together your feed.
2. Think about the colours that you want your feed to have and pick out your outfits accordingly.
3. Stick to dresses or a simple top and pants.
4. Grab your purse to add colour to your photos.
5. Wear shoes that you are comfortable in and that you really love!
6. Pick out simple, clean jewelry to tie your outfit together!

How to look at your social media platforms in a positive way:

- You are in control of the type of content you want to view
- Social media isn't that serious
- Work on your mindset
- People aren't judging you and if they are then block them
- If someone you follow isn't serving you, hit the unfollow button

Remember that we always want good vibes on social media and we don't have to view certain things or people.

How do you pose for photos? And how do you find inspiration?

Shooting my own content was never easy and I've had 3 years of practice and now I'm here to help you.

Tips for posing:

- Look up instagram poses on Pinterest
- Put some music on and move freely
- Use a photo capturing app that will take photos of you every few seconds and at a large amount at a time and you can go through them and delete the ones you don't like

Now, wherever you are taking photos people will ALWAYS be staring. But, once you do this a few times and keep practicing - you won't even notice they are there.

YOU'VE GOT THIS BOO.

Let's talk about your relationship with social media.

Some of us are on here for pleasure and some of us are on here for business.

If there are ever any negative thoughts that come into your mind about social media, here's a few things to remember:

- You are in control of what you want to consume
- Use the Mute, Block and/or Restrict features
- Social media isn't a bad place

If you ever need to take a step back from social media, you can easily do that. You need to do what's best for you.

If you are like me and you love social media, always work on your personal development because its very easy to get consumed in this world when you love it.

Taking photos of yourself doesn't need to be hard!

I use a very affordable tripod from Amazon and an app called LensBuddy to set a timer and set the amount of photos and the time between shots to take all my photos.

This also saves you time and money.

My first tip when it comes to posting on your feed is to make it easy on the eye. ⁠
⁠
If you have too many photos of yourself or one thing, you can save images from Pinterest that you love to break up the photos of you.⁠
⁠
This will give your feed a calmer look.⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠

Let's talk about colour schemes.

What I do is shoot content with certain colours in mind of what I want my feed to look like going forward for the next week or two.

I then find filler photos with similar colours to my outfit photos that way my feed looks cohesive.
