A Clergyman from the South South Region of Nigeria, Evang.(Dr) Mark Udo sets to take over Uyo ,the Akwa Ibom State capital for Christ as Mark Evangelistic Global Outreach concluded its plans to hold a programme tagged", One Night In April."

The event is schedule for this Friday 28th of April, 2023 at Sufficient Grace Int'l Worship Centre, 49 Idoro Road , Uyo, Akwa Ibom State and will start from 8pm till dawn.

Speaking to Journalists, the 21st century Evangelist and founder of the SGIWC worldwide, Evang(Dr) Mark Udo disclosed that the programme will serve as a Channel of blessings, miracle and supernatural encounter to people across the globe.

The prophet of this generation and king of Evangelism in Akwa Ibom State, who has hanged the banner of the event in all corners of the State while giving more details about the super mind blowing event noted that the event will have in attendance God general's, Gospel artists and other personalities across the world.

Evang. (Dr). Mark Udo also revealed that free buses will be available in all local Government Areas in the state so as to take people to the venue of the event and gave a contact to call in order to reach out to the drivers such as; 07030199907.

Evang Mark Udo, in his Statement, called on members of the public to make good use of the opportunity by attending the event in order not to miss the blessings of God.

A popular Akwa Ibom State Clergy, Evang (Dr) Mark Udo yesterday Sunday 23rd of April, caught on the street of Uyo,the state capital as he emptied all members of the sufficient Grace international worship center, worldwide on a street praise campaign ahead of the programme tagged," one night in April"
The event is schedule to take place this Friday 28th of April,2023 at the church Auditorium no. 49 Idoro Road, Uyo from 8pm still dawn.

The essence of the street praise campaign was to remind members of the public about the programme so as to enable them prepare for the super mind blowing event.

According to the information provided,the programme will have in attendance,top Clergymen and other personalities and featured top Gospel artists within and without.

As Independent National Electoral commission(INEC) declared 25th of this month for the presidential, Senate, National Assembly elections day, traders in Oduk market in Ikono Local Government Area have reassured that they will vote Dr. Glory Edet as National Assembly member for Ikono/ Ini and others umbrella party candidates at all levels.

The traders made this known on Tuesday as MKPOINI, a socio political group with a slogan"justice and equity" embarked on a market tour to preach the gospel of Dr. Glory Edet and others PDP candidates at all levels ahead of the February 25th and March elections.

Speaking to newsmen during the campaign, the Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor ,Mr Udom Emmanuel on trade, Obongawan Maria Eshiet who joined the group for the tour, said that Dr. Glory Edet and others PDP candidates will ensure that citizens enjoyment true dividends of democracy, such as; grants, loans and others tangibles dividends.

Mrs. Eshiet noted that for Ikono/Ini people to have Dr. Glory Edet at the National Assembly is nothing but a blessing to the food basket Constituency.

Eshiet, said that Dr. Glory Edet is favored in zoning and she has what it's takes to move Ikono/ Ini from consumption to production State.

The champion of traders in the State, while speaking in the aspect of zoning system which was signed, agreed and documented by the Elders, Shakeholders, men, women and youths of Ikono / Ini Federal Constituency since 1999, Mrs Maria Eshiet revealed that Mrs Iquo Nyong Inyang of Ikono LGA represented the Constituency from 1999 - 2007(eight years), Prof. Ini Udoka of Ini took over in 2007 - 2015( eight years).

Moreso, in 2015 as earlier agreed, he handed over peaceful to Mr Iboro Ekanem from Ikono LGA were he lead the Constituency only four years and later handed over the mantle to the current Member representing the Constituency, Obong Emmanuel ukpong-udo in 2019 to complete Ikono turn by 2023 to make it eight years, so as to allow Ini LGA takes over for peaceful coexistence of the sister LGAs.

" I must say that anyone that is coming to contest the seat with Ini LGA is wasting his or her time. Ini must take their turn as agreed,"She maintain.

" I must say that come February 25th this year that traders in Ikono/ Ini Federal Constituency will ensure that they vote for Dr Glory Edet for the betterment of our generations yet unborn". she added.

According to some selected traders who spoke on behalf of others said that Dr. Glory Edet and others PDP candidates remain their choice, while recalling that it was PDP government that provided them with a conducive place for them to have where they can stay and exchange their good and services.

The traders while speaking described Dr. Glory Edet as a leader per excellent who has the fear of God and the capacity to transform the Constituency to a betterment State.

The traders in their statement, described Dr Glory Edet as a visionary leader and promise to vote for PDP at level.

2023: IKONO/ INI PDP CANDIDATES, STALWARTS INTERFACE WITH MALE YOUTHS TODAY

The allied force of Dr Glory Edet, Hon Itoro Columba, Hon Lawrence Udoide, Chief Barr Moses Akpan, Hon Emmanuel Bassey, Sir Victor Etefia, Hon Victor Udofia, Hon Nyakno Okoibu have interfaced with all male youths across all the political Units in Ikono Local Government Area today, January 28, 2023.

Addressing the mammoth crowd at the resident of the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Petroleum Matters, Sir Victor Etefia , the candidate for Ikono and Ini Federal Constituency Seat, Dr Glory Edet appraised the youths for responding to their call and churning out massively.

Dr Edet posited that the meeting was to officially notified them that they are front liners and the footsoldiers that will ensure the party gets landslide victory at the poll.

In her words, "male youths should stand to guide their units against every form of violence that may be perpetrated by the opposition whose intentions is geared towards nursing unrest in the constituency."

The former Commissioner for Agriculture pledged that her victory at the poll will bring human capacity development, empowerment of generality of youths across individual stratum, and socio cultural affiliations.

She stressed that the teeming youths who strolled down to the venue with PDP insignias further affirmed the fact that Ikono Local Government is for Peoples Democratic Party and that they will vote Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as President, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno as Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Barr Emmanuel Enoidem as Senator for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, herself for Ikono/ Ini Federal Constituency, and Hon Itoro Columba for Ikono State Constituency.

Also, Hon Itoro Columba in his remarked sealed that the populace who stood before them becomes a trading conviction and persuasion that Peoples Democratic Party will cruise to victory in the forth coming elections.

According to Hon Itoro Columba, "PDP begets the conscience of the Common man and will forever be at the forefront of leadership in the State and Nigeria to deliver mouth watering and eye friendly dividends of democracy to the people".

He highlighted the essence of the meeting to be an interface with the defenders of truth, Justice and equity who will inturn mobilize other sons and daughters of the Area to fetch victory for Peoples Democratic party.

Added, the State Organizing Secretary of the Party, Chief Barr Moses Akpan urged individual persons to fall back to base and ensure that all their individual families, Units, and wards vote for the Peoples Democratic Party.

Chief Akpan reemphasized that Pastor Umo Eno is a son of Ikono Local Government Area and thus, every Ikono son and daughter will queue behind his aspirations to further drive development to the Area.

London School Bus With Children Bursts Into Flames

A 30-seater school bus with children inside burst into flames in middle of the road in Hackney, London on Friday.

A footage of the incident on social media shows the bus engulfed in flames with smoke coming from it and nearby car alarms sounding.

According to reports, all the children were safely evacuated from the bus.

Agony of motherhood as babies get swapped!

Two mothers of Ndola are having to experience agony instead of joy after their baby boys appeared to have been inadvertently swapped shortly after both welcomed their infants at Ndola Teaching Hospital.

One of the affected mothers, Violet Mulenga, 26, narrated how she learnt about the swap after giving birth.

She heard the other woman, Marjory Kiprios, who had given birth earlier than her, complaining that the child she was given was not hers as her name tag seemed to have been tampered with.

“I then went to the sister-in-charge and explained the ordeal,” she narrated amid sobs.
“The following day, the nurse came and told us that they would engage management.

2023 GUBER: HYPERTENSIVE CANDIDATE MAY EXPERIENCE BRAIN DISORDER- Expert

There are speculations that the Governorship candidate of the Young Progressive Party, Sen Obong Bassey Albert is currently experiencing brain malfunctioning and disorderliness.

Recalled that Obong Bassey Albert was recently granted bail on health ground by a vacation court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, after he was convicted for 42 years imprisonment.

An affidavit whose inscription prayed the court to grant him the bail reads that he, the lawmaker has been hypertensive.

According to expert in the University of Uyo teaching Hospital, through empirical research suggest that hypertension often results in diminished brain blood flow and metabolism and that such issues are believed to affect neuronal metabolism, neurochemical transmission and thus diminished brain function.

More speculations proved this to be the reason the candidate has refused to address the press, speak on the radio or Tv, further his campaign, or address his supporters even on this hills to the General elections.

Meanwhile, a chieftain of the party has promised that such might not be the reason for his quietness and silence, as he will speak sooner to the elections.

He called on him to speak up now and prove his non supporters wrong.

AFAHA ITAK UNIT 5 PLEDGES COMMITMENT TO ITORO COLUMBA AND ALL PDP CANDIDATES..as Ikono State Assembly Hopeful visits the area

The atmosphere was euphoric when the immediate past Ikono Council Boss who is also the PDP Standard Bearer for Ikono State Constituency, Hon. Itoro Columba visited the people of Afaha Itak Unit 5 in his bid to reinforce, garner support and votes for PDP and her Candidates.

The event, which was held yesterday 6th, January, 2023 at the Afaha Itak residence of Hon. Godwin Mark; a former Vice Chairman of Ikono and the political leader of the Unit, was attended by a mammoth crowd of supporters who vowed to ensure the victory of Hon. Itoro Columba in the forthcoming 2023 Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly race.

Setting the tone for the meeting, the host, Hon. Godwin Mark hinted that the entire Afaha Itak Unit 5 is a stronghold of the PDP and the electorates are solidly behind Hon Columba for the State House of Assembly and will also vote all PDP Candidates on the election day, because the party has carefully selected the best candidates for the job of redeeming Nigeria from abject poverty and economic crises . He advised the youths, women and Elders to spread the gospel of PDP across board, urging the people to dislodge the mushroom party and their lies, because the leaf handlers have nothing to offer.

Others Speakers which include, the Village Head of Afaha Itak, Eteidung Thomas Ekpenyong, the Central Youth president of Itak who is equally the Community Youth President, Akparawa Emaekop Nse; Community Women Leader, Mrs Grace Bassey Jimmy and ASP James Clement Akpan (rtd) also spoke in glowing terms about the love Columba showed Afaha Itak when he was Chairman. They specifically recalled his swift intervention in a feud between Osuk Ediene and Afaha Itak that would have been fatal and long-drawn but for his timely intervention which was even followed up with a Lorry-Load of relief materials to them.

They also celebrated him for the conditional cash transfer he brought to Ikono which has seen to the empowerment of many indigents households from the village. They pledged to swim and float with Mr. Itoro Columba and other PDP candidates.

The House of Assembly candidate in his response extolled God for His blessings towards the People of Afaha Itak, making it possible to gather once again to sensitize the people on the need to rally around PDP and her Candidates which is the only party that thinks positively about the people.

Hon. Columba used the avenue to call on all indigenes of Afaha Itak to vote for PDP candidates on the election day, stressing that the party has done so much for Itak in different angles. He also made a promise that, he is going to make the people of Afaha Itak and Ikono proud again when he finally gets to the floor of the House.

The House of Assembly hopeful, further pointed clearly that, he is contesting on the ground that he has been favoured by zoning to contest as the House of Assembly seat is zoned to Ediene/Itak geopolitical zone in Ikono and charged natives of the area not to join the bandwagons to sell their birthright.

Mr Columba submitted that, Ikono needs a man who will be there for the people, speak and bring live touching projects to the people and not someone who doesn't understand the business of legislation.

OBA’S BAIL: HOW COUNSEL TOLD COURT SENATOR HAS 14 YEARS AILMENT

…PASSPORT SEIZED, BANNED FROM TRAVELING OUT OF AKWA IBOM

It has also been uncovered that the federal high court in Port Harcourt had slammed an injunction barring the Senator from traveling out of Akwa Ibom State.

Similarly, the embattled senator has been stripped of his international passports, diplomatic papers and has been placed on the watchlist of the Nigerian Immigration Service.

This is the summary of the court judgement granting bail to the Senator last week, a copy of which is with the Global Pilot Newspaper.

An aide to the convicted Senator and YPP Governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom, Senator Bassey Albert had told the Federal High Court sitting in Port-Harcourt that his boss has been suffering from a life threatening ailment, being hypertension and diabetes hence the need for the court to grant him bail to enable him access proper medical attention outside the correctional facility.

Ini Utuk, a legislative aide to the embattled Senator had disclosed this in an affidavit in support of the Senator's appeal pending bail application.

He also told the court that his case may not be attended to in the next two years following the avalanche of pre-election cases in the appellate court.

The Court had on 28th December, 2022 granted the convicted YPP Governorship candidate bail pending the hearing and determination of the appeal against his conviction and sentence by the court.

Recall that the embattled Senator was jailed on December 1st, 2022 by the Federal High Court sitting in Uyo , having been found guilty of corruption and fraud related charges brought against him by the EFCC.

Utuk in the deposed affidavit told the court, “I know as a fact that the Applicant has been batting with
serious medical condition of Hypertension and Diabetes that requires specialized medical attention which cannot be provided in prison custody.

“Now shown to me and exhibited
hereto is a report from the Applicants personal physician
marked Exhibit AB2”

“I know as a fact that upon being brought to the Correctional Centre, the applicant was subjected to medical examination by a Government Officer. The report of the medical examination shows that the Applicant has been suffering from hypertension and diabetes.

“Now shown to me and exhibited hereto is a copy of the medical report of the Government Medical Officer marked as exhibit AB3.

“In that medical report, the medical Officer also expressed fear that if the applicant is not given proper medical attention, he stands a high risk of developing complications that could result in sudden death”.

Ini Etuk also pleaded with the court that his fears that the Senator’s appeal may not be heard in two years time. “Although the Applicant is doing everything permitted by law to fast track his appeal, it might take more than two (2) years for the Court of Appeal Calabar Division to determine his appeal due to the congestion of cases in that Court. In addition to the already existing congestion at the
Court of Appeal, there is presently the upsurge in pre-election cases whose appeals further congest the Court of Appeal.

“There is also the looming general elections for the year 2023 which usually results in a lot of election
petitions and appeals that further congest the already congested Court of Appeal".

“ Given the real likelihood of the appeal lasting at the
Court of Appeal for a fairly long period before determined, by no fault of the Applicant or the Court of Appeal, the Applicant might end up serving a substantial part of his sentence before an appeal against his conviction is determined by the Court of Appeal”.

This application by the Senator confirms the fears that his appeal against the judgement of the federal high court is yet to come up for hearing before the Appellate Court.

Filing application for his bail, OBA's lead counsel, Kanu Agabi (SAN) had described his client as a person of good character and behavior, adding that having served as a former Commissioner in Akwa lbom State and a two term Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District and the gubernatorial candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) for the forthcoming 2023 Governorship Election in Akwa lbom State, he would not jump bail.

“The Applicant has had a longstanding ailment for 14 (Fourteen) years being cared for by dedicated physicians and requires
specialized medical attention which cannot be provided in prison custody.

“That unless this application is taken and granted the Applicant’s bail application may not be heard during the court's vacation as
the Federal High Court is presently on vacation.

In its ruling, the Federal High Court, presided over by Justice S.I Mark, granted bail to the Convict in the sum of Fifty Millon Naira (N50,000.000.00) with two sureties in like sum.

Both sureties were asked to provide a valid Certificate of Occupancy of properties in Rivers State and depose to affidavit of means.

The Applicant was asked to deposit all his International
Passports with the Registry of this Court, including any official and diplomatic passport.

The National Immigration Service was to be notified of the bail conditions as it relates to the passport

The Applicant was mandated to file a written undertaking not to leave its jurisdiction without approval of the court.

His initial alleged attempt to use a football match orchestrated injury to make the bail application, was however jettisoned when he was told that a medical report by his private doctor was as useless as a toilet tissue and that he needed the report from a government owned health facility to make a case for bail.

My Pact with the people of Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency


In a couple of months, we shall approach the polls to exercise our franchise as a people committed to unity, equity, fairness, zoning and quality representation. When that is done, I shall passionately work to fulfilling the mandate. A legislator is defined by a three pronged responsibility : law making, oversight functions and one who communicates, enlighten their constituents about Government policies and communicate progress of programmes. This I shall prosecute passionately knowing our people deserve the best.

Two responsibilities have shaped my life and have served as a compass that regulate relationships. First my years as a university lecturer . The other, my appointment as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Agriculture and Women Affairs as well as Agriculture and food sufficiency Ministries. This made me to understand the problems people are faced on a daily basis and what it takes, to bring soccur. The legislature like the executive, comes to the rescue in solving or finding solution to these human challenges. By the special Grace of God, in addition to other things, i’ll target these subset:

1. Women/Youth Development:
We can change the narrative of families leaving in abject poverty with women and youth engagement in productive ventures. Our women shall be grouped to cooperatives, where they shall benefit from Grant and specific training to equip and empower them economically. Restiveness and unemployment find expression from youths who are unproductive. Assist those that are employable with useful information and opportunities. Those interested in skills, training platforms shall come to the rescue. The successful ones shall be engaged where opportunities abound,others count on our provision of start-up packs . By all means necessary, we must ensure a reversal of culture by returning our women and youth to sustainable economic ventures. The multiplying effect will be there for all to appreciate.

2. Education:
Education is a necessity. As a disciplined lecturer that taught in the University, and a lover of education, this sector would never be ignored. Having being the Staff Adviser for students for about eight years in the University, I know the problems. We shall continue and expand our existing scholarship scheme to accommodate more indigent but brilliant students. Link our graduates to existing opportunities . We will partner with relevant authority to attract more projects to our schools.

3. Multi-Sector Partnerships for Community Development:
There are fallow grounds that must be harnessed deliberately for, the empowerment of stakeholders, development of rural communities. We shall look the way of special projects, social interventions, Banks of Industry and Agriculture, whose target is empowering small and medium enterprises to benefit our people. It is this same focus that will sustain our drive as we seek improvement of infrastructures in our communities through projects. This will accommodate elders and communities. Ikono/Ini have need of more rural electrification, roads, health, schools, water, Agriculture services etc. These we shall respond to.

4. Constituency Briefings:
We do not intend to represent the people when the people are not represented and their opinions not captured. A representative democracy as ours, demand accountability. We shall present scorecards not for the next election but as a defining characteristics of a representative whose interest is the people. Rest assured such fora shall be a demonstration of my love for our people and not stories. We shall use this and others to track our work rate and design New trajectories to serving our people.

5. Agriculture /Food Sufficiency:
Ikono/Ini are popularly referred to as the foodbasket of Akwa Ibom State. It account for a number of agriculture produce required for consumption and production. We shall ensure a value chain effect in Cocoa, Rice, Palm, Cassava, and husbandry. We shall partner government and private sector in this direction. Our youths , women and men shall be encouraged to take advantage that agriculture provides for a functional economy where many will be pulled out of poverty, enjoy economic independence and contribute to building a diversified economy away from a mono oil economy.
We look forward to assisting our people access facilities, and work with relevant authorities to provide needed infrastructures to make agriculture attractive.

6. Inclusiveness and Respect to Institutions:
Everyone will be carried along. Royal fathers and mothers will be given their due respect . Persons with Disabilities will not be left out. Training Programmes will be done for them and subsequent empowerment.

7. The Supremacy of God will always be acknowledged as His Glory will reign in Ikono/Ini

Beloved constituents, I am here to represent you and be your needed voice
