When you didn’t think you could endure another day of stop-and-start contractions

When you told your birth team you can’t keep going

When you said you couldn’t push her out

✨You just didn’t know your strength then✨

But when you held her on your chest

You knew you could persevere through anything

You knew you would continue fighting every single day for her

You knew you would keep pushing forward for more abundant life ahead

✨You are a mother and this is what you do✨

Bearing down becomes picking up.
Intensity paves the way for elation.
A uterus contracts; then a heart expands.

Childbirth is incredible 🤍

Have or having a 2024 baby?🤰🏽🤱🏽Your birth, breastfeeding, motherhood, sleep, your mental health, and your fertility are all top of mind right now and it can be so much to juggle all at once!

Inside the Kamdoula Collective, you’ll have the resources to walk through it empowered! 🙌🏾

A support group, a 90 minute 1-1 to prep for or process your experience, my on-demand fertility class which specifically teaches fertility while breastfeeding, sessions on taking care of your body, Bible studies and more!

This will be your best postpartum yet!

In our support group sessions, I will provide a short lesson on managing postpartum and then my friend Mariah will take over to facilitate discussion and prayer.

Here’s what Mariah has to say:

“When I was pregnant I knew postpartum would be a huge life adjustment, but was looking forward to pushing my son in a stroller while we walked around the neighborhood, bonding during feedings, and wearing him while I got things done around the house.

“However, I quickly found out things weren’t what I imagined, starting with a birth that went far from what I had planned. It was such a challenge to try adjusting to what postpartum actually was: struggling to figure out breastfeeding, having a hard time processing my unplanned c-section, realizing how much baby weight there is to lose after the baby is born, not always knowing what my son wanted or needed, etc.

“Postpartum is such a unique and challenging time and it can be so easy to isolate and feel alone as you try to survive (because surviving is truly all you feel like you can do some days), which is why I want to help provide this postpartum support group for women.

“I hope inside of the Kamdoula collective you will find other ladies you can lean on and who know what it’s like to be where you are, and I would love to join you on your journey, wherever that may be.”

Join us, but hurry because you only have 3 days left to enroll. DM me the word POSTPARTUM and I will send you the link!

Meet Cassie!! Cassie is a client and friend of mine and she is going to be leading our Support Group for those who are Trying to Conceive or navigating Pregnancy Loss inside of the Kamdoula Collective.

Here’s what she has to say:

“I’m Cassie, and my fertility journey has looked far different than I ever could have imagined. The Lord put the desire to be a mama on my heart from a young age and it has consistently stayed one of my deepest desires, but I also knew I had some issues with my cycle for as long as I could remember.

“My husband and I got married in 2020 and we started trying a little earlier than I would have initially planned because I wasn’t sure what was going to happen with my cycle. I soon got a PCOS diagnosis, and from there, I dove into learning about my body and my hormones. Since the diagnosis, I have been blessed to become pregnant twice, but both of those pregnancies ended in 2nd trimester losses.

“I feel so privileged to get to run this TTC support group because I know the deep longing and hope to grow your family, but also the immense pain that can come with loss. Whether you just started trying and are hopeful, it’s been years and you are trying to hold on to hope, or you’ve experienced loss, I can empathize and would be honored to walk with you in that.”

🤍

Isn’t she amazing?! If you’re currently navigating a pregnancy loss or journey to conceive, I would love for you to join us this semester inside the Kamdoula Collective! We kick off in just 7 days!

Message me to get the link to enroll!

Around here, you’ll hear me say “Bring Forth Life” all the time. Too much you might wonder? Maybe, idk 😂

But what do I even mean by it?

Because while initially you might assume I’m talking about getting pregnant and birthing a baby, there’s so much more to it than that.

In my work as a fertility and birth doula, I want to empower women to Bring Forth Life in whatever they are called to do.

In their careers, in their mothering, in their marriages, in their homes, in their churches, and in their communities.

Full, abundant, spiritual LIFE through the power of the Holy Spirit in partnership with their hormones and their bodies honored as a humble vehicle for God to move through.

What paths can we use to do this?

This Fall I’m offering a few ways you can join me.

1️⃣The Kamdoula Collective is my signature program. This is 16 weeks of exploring in community the depths of Biblical AND Evidence-Based information about our reproductive health. Whether your focus is your period, getting pregnant, optimizing pregnancy, or postpartum, this is the place for you.

2️⃣My birth classes will continue to move in a more holistic direction, providing more and more guidance for the spiritual and practical transition to parenthood.

3️⃣My Devotionals for Pregnancy will be released TOMORROW and if you’re currently pregnant, you can still enter to win a copy if you scroll back to yesterday’s post.

4️⃣My Consult calendar is reopening in August where we can have one-on-one discussion about your period, fertility, and birth as well as deeper areas of freedom and restoration as you seek holistic healing.

5️⃣I’ll be attending several precious births as some incredible families expand their reach and open their homes.

6️⃣And lastly, behind the scenes I’m working on reformatting and expanding my curriculum and online courses for better period education for tweens, teens, and young adults, and for managing fertility in every stage of life.

I LOVE this work, and this semester I’m devoting more hours to it than I ever have before. I’m so excited to see what God does.

Join me and Bring Forth Life 🌺

“This is about to be incredible,” he said as she prepared to breastfeed their newborn for the first time.

While I understand that not everyone is as obsessed with birth and breastfeeding as I am 😅, there’s something so powerful when we approach them with awe and wonder toward our bodies and above all, toward the One who created them.

I love witnessing what our bodies can do, and when clients get excited about, it’s everything to me.

Your body is incredible.
Your baby is incredible.
Your Creator is incredible.

And I hope you experience it fully 🌸

PS: If you are a Christian Pregnant Mama be sure to follow me at because very soon I will be releasing a set of Jesus-Centered Devotionals and Evidence-Based Resources for your pregnancy and I would LOVE for you to hear more about them.

I usually end up filtering out pictures with blood but I have something to say today in honor of the blood shed for us so keep reading if you can♥️

The reality is we all have varying experiences with our mothers. You may have the most attentive mom in the world or you may feel continually disappointed by her emotional distance. You may be parading around your mom this weekend or you may not even know your mom.

And those feelings, whatever they are, are valid and they could be especially heavy this weekend.

👉🏽But the one thing I do know is that each and every one of us have a mother who bled for us.👈🏽

To bear a child is to sacrifice and as women, we have the unique opportunity to resemble Jesus Christ in this way.

Just like him, we bleed and then we give life.

Just like He saved you by His blood, she birthed you by her blood.

So this weekend, we celebrate mothers everywhere. We celebrate their life giving potential. The way they create from two microscopic cells. The way they carry, and nurture, and grow. And the way they give and they give and they give.

Moms are amazing. And they reflect an amazing creator.
Happy Mother’s Day weekend to each of you reading ♥️

🎉I’m running an exclusive Mother’s Day sale on my birth course, fertility course, and 1-1 sessions for my email list only so grab the link in my stories to make sure you’re on the list!🎉

“For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.”

Hours/days (honestly don’t remember) after delivering my preeclampsia baby, we were moved to our postpartum room.

At one point I got up to go to the bathroom and suddenly felt very ill. I thought I may puke and I just knew something was not right in my body.

The nurse was in my room and she quickly took my blood pressure to find it had skyrocketed even beyond what it was during my labor.

More bloodwork was ordered and I remember my favorite nurse coming back to tell me that unfortunately my labs went in the wrong direction. My liver enzymes were elevated and my platelets were low.

I was diagnosed with HELLP syndrome and they declared I’d be staying at least one more night in the hospital. I wanted nothing more than to bring my baby home.

They brought in a 24 hour magnesium drip and two cups of ice cream and I cried as I tried to process what was happening to me.

In the frustration of it all I had no emotional space to be scared, but I found out later my family was.

HELLP syndrome can be quite serious and I just didn’t know then how important it was that I received such attentive and thorough care.

Looking like I got hit by a truck, my doctor complimented my postpartum gown I had bought at Goodwill saying I looked like I was a visitor instead of a patient and that made me feel like a million bucks.

I’m so grateful for how smoothly breastfeeding went in those first few days. Had it been difficult too, I think I would have collapsed. But feeding and nurturing and bonding with my baby got me through those two extra nights in the hospital (5 total with the induction.)

Finally things stabilized for me and we got to bring our baby home on my very first Mother’s Day. That was one of the most precious days of my entire life.

Eight years ago now, that all feels like such a blur. And though I would never wish it on anyone, I’m so thankful for my experience and all I learned then. It has fed so richly into my work as a doula.

If you’re reading this as a pre-e survivor yourself, I see you and the profound impact this has had on your life 🤍

Birth workers have fears about birth too 💜

Here’s me 2 years ago today, just 8 days out from meeting my double rainbow baby at home.

As a birth doula, I love talking about the safety of home birth and the immense benefits of birthing in a calm, cozy, comfortable environment.

But as a human, as a mother, and as a woman about to give birth, I was simultaneously dealing with some pretty intense fears surrounding my upcoming birth.

Resuscitation, shoulder dystocia, and preeclampsia these were some of the fears circulating through my mind and keeping me up at night.

I taught Birth Class to a group of students due around me and talked about the importance of fear processing in pregnancy. In someways, I felt like an imposter teaching that class. In other ways I felt I had been able to connect with my students like never before.

Birth workers aren’t immune from fears surrounding birth. Actually we have to work through it even more intentionally because of the birth trauma we have witnessed and because of the deep attachment we have to birth.

But we work through it just the same way I encourage anyone to work through it:

🗣️Open up, be vulnerable, and talk about it.
👏🏽Build a team you can trust.
👥Process what you’ve seen in therapy.
📝And then learn more about your specific fear, what your options are to manage it, and make a plan for how you’ll face it.

Through the compassionate care of my team ( ) I was able to work through my fears and give birth smoothly at home. Something I continue to celebrate today.

So whether you’re a birth worker or not, I’d love to discuss your fears surrounding birth and help you make a plan to manage them. Shoot me a message and we can set up a virtual fear processing session soon 💜

A couple years ago I was at a women’s retreat doing a guided prayer meditation. Through that, I saw a picture in my mind of Jesus walking toward me in the woods. I could see He was visibly disturbed. Frustrated, upset, angry.

He came over to the table I was sitting at, sat down, and with a sigh He said, “My friends are hurting, Kami.”

I knew instantly the friends He was referring to were women and they were hurting due to issues in their reproductive health.

Infertility. Postpartum Depression. Miscarriages. Stillbirth. Period Problems. Hormone Imbalances that contribute to Depression and Anxiety. Pregnancy Complications. And The Marital Strain that comes with all of it.

I was so touched to see how Jesus was visibly hurting for these women. He took on their pain.

But then His distraught turned to a smile so quickly after that. And He looked at me and said, “but we’re gonna help them.”

I remember how pumped up I felt in that moment. So excited to be a part of it. Thrilled to witness the healing that was coming. I gave Jesus my planner that was sitting there and jumped all in.

That experience changed the way I run this business.

I am so honored to minister to women through the lens of their reproductive health. We seek physical healing AND spiritual healing. We look for breakthrough, restoration, and freedom.

I’ve changed the format for how I do this and within the next Kamdoula Collective, I’m excited to offer more in-depth one-on-one packages so stay tuned for that.

But through the changes I’ve held tightly to the promises of Jesus. That He takes on our pain, but it quickly turns into anticipation for the miracles to come. I believe He is on the move and I feel so incredibly excited to be along for the ride.

If you’re new here, my name is Kami Schwartz and I’m a certified birth doula and fertility educator. I love supporting women in their reproductive, mental and spiritual health from puberty to pregnancy to perimenopause.

Thank you for being here and for supporting my business and my ministry. It means SO much to me. Praying for small steps and giant leaps forward to all who are reading this 🤍

Long ago, the Creator wove into the feminine design the ability to bleed and not die.

The ability to bleed and then bring forth life.

A foreshadowing of the One to come and an act of remembrance for the One who conquered, her bleeding is so profound all because His bleeding changes everything.

I pray your experience of Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday this weekend changes everything anew 🤍

The coziest first breastfeeds are in the side-lying position and it’s been my go to at births lately. Here’s why:👇🏽

Number 1️⃣: Mom gets to rest. She doesn’t have to sit up or crane her neck to see her baby. Instead, she just rolls over and has pillows she can rest her head on if desired.

Number 2️⃣: Baby is supported by the bed so mom doesn’t have to try to hold baby up by the breast. Her hands are more free to eat while her baby eats as that “just gave birth hunger” rushes in.

Number 3️⃣: Baby is in a gravity neutral position so we’re not fighting against gravity to keep a deep latch. Instead, baby can be pulled in closely to mom’s body naturally facilitating a deeper latch and skin to skin time.

And Number 4️⃣: As part of a safe bed-sharing set up, side lying nursing through the night facilitates better sleep AND more frequent breastfeeding which in turn gives us higher prolactin levels, and a stronger milk supply.

So after you deliver your baby and regain the mobility and freedom to do so, try turning to your side, putting baby skin to skin on her side, pull her close to your breast and allow her time to explore.

Just like a newborn puppy, she has the instincts within her to seek, find, and latch and it’s one of my most favorite things in the world to witness 🤍
