THE BITTERSWEET…
As you all know, we are big fans of around here and I love tuning in to her . She recently had on, discussing her latest book Bittersweet. I am obsessed with the discussion that took place and I can’t wait to read it! I adore coaching for longing in our ***ir ***irphotography sessions! It’s such a beautiful state of being where we hood the space for the acute awareness of passing time. From Susan: “The bittersweet is…an authentic and elevating response to the problem of being alive in a deeply flawed yet stubbornly beautiful world. Most of all, bittersweetness shows us how to respond to pain: by acknowledging it and attempting to turn it into art or anything else that nourishes the soul. At the heart of it all is an inspired inquiry into “transforming pain into creativity, transcendence, and love,” posed with sensitivity to the realities and varieties of pain we live with.”

Ooooohhhhh yes! And that is why we explore all the states of the human condition, because there is beauty to behold in even the darkest moments. So thankful to my mentor for teaching me how to coach and appreciate this beautiful piece of the human experience.

The strength in vulnerability is something I love to capture! I call this the gateway emotion because it takes great courage to allow ourselves to be vulnerable and open. There is a great misnomer that vulnerability is a weakness and that is simply NOT TRUE.

Leaning into our story and owning it puts the power in OUR hands and takes it away from others who may have controlled it before.
