Just a little update on progress here at Sand Cove Kennels
Some progress on the new kennel now that it stayed dry for a couple days. The inside part is poured and the holding tank placed.
Two weekends and it’s leveled. Now to get the new one up when the weather allows. Thanks to the whole family for helping tear down. It’s fun to have everyone help.
We are finally tearing down the old shed we had for our kennels. Very excited to to start building our new set up when we are done tearing this thing down. This is the crew I had doing the work. I enjoyed working with these two.
Sand Cove Kennels is now taking three male deposits on this outstanding cross we made a few days ago. These puppies should be born around May 13th. For more info pm me. Thanks for reading.
Millie thought we should get out and point a couple of birds before the snow comes.
Ruby head to her new home today. She will be surprised when she gets there and sees her mom Rosie. They will get to still hunt together.
Ruby out pointing a couple birds yesterday before she heads to her new home tomorrow.
Millie out pointing a couple birds before the weather changes.
A bitter sweet day here at the kennel. Sandcove’s Desert Rose has moved to her new home. Gonna miss walking behind her and watching her do what she loved to do. She is at a home that is going to hunt and love her as much as we did which is comforting. Part of her is still with us as we have three of her daughters here.
We got out for the last day of the season. Got to hunt with Jason from Pro Shot and another friend. Always a fun time hunting with these two guys and watching some good dog work. Now it’s a long wait until October.
Had a good morning chasing roosters. Limit in three hours. Saw 34 birds all hens except these three. Birds were pretty jumpy but still pointed some thankfully these three sat tight. Also fun watching this puppy get her first point on wild birds. Love seeing the natural abilities come out of a puppy.
We here at Sand Cove Kennels want to wish everyone a very merry Christmas.
Went for a brisk-5 walk on some public land this morning. This is the only rooster we came across. Lots of points on hens. It was fun because they all sat nice and tight. Love that adrenaline of walking in on a point to see what pops up out the grass.
Sand Cove Kennel crew is taking a quick weekend getaway to Branson to the Sights and Sounds Theater.
We hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving and takes a minute to remember everything we are thankful for.
Hunted a couple of new public places today. These two worked their butts off to find these two rosters.
Who doesn’t love hunting on the first snowfall of the year. Doesn’t get any better than that.
Dee was pointing pheasant out in the fields yesterday and working out of the duck blind this morning.
Owen stayed and hunted today with friends. Eli and I had to go home Saturday night because of other commitments. He had a blast.
The boys and I had the pleasure of taking the dogs and hunting with some friends. It was fun being back in the field watching good dog work again.
Here’s a puppy doing what she’s bred to do.
Had a great day doing the youth pheasant hunt. Fun helping the kids and seeing how happy they are when they get their bird. They also got to shoot a couple boxes of shells at the trap range to get some practice in before hand.
Here’s a almost 4 month old Sand Cove Kennel puppy showing her new owner her natural talent.
Great day in the Wisconsin woods with a good friend. We wish we could hit more of those grouse.
Love getting pictures like this. Leo was a client dog we had the pleasure to work with. He’s a pretty nice dog.
Here’s a 3.5 month Sand Cove Kennels puppy that is out pointing woodcock and being shot over. Love getting these pictures from there new owners.
Louie is out getting it done on a very nice evening. He’s going to make someone a very nice hunting buddy.
We sold this puppy to a family that has a boy that wanted a dog to grow up with and hunt. Here’s a picture of that 13 week old puppy and that boy with the first quail he got to shoot over her. We are so happy that he got his wish. Good luck and keep hunting her. Looks like you two make a pretty good team.
