A teenage boy's dream of becoming rich quickly collapsed when he was arrested at a bank in Nyamira where police believe he had gone to steal.
The Form Three student's efforts to escape from the local KCB branch backfired, police said.
Nyamira South cub-county police commander Isaac Sang said the teenager sneaked into the bank at night hoping to land on bundles of cash.
"However, all he could find were files and papers. When we arrived, we found out that the teenager had rummaged through the files in the drawers and had even gained access into the manager’s office only to find there wasn’t any money there,” Sang said.
The officer said preliminary investigations indicated that the boy gained entry into the banking through the window. The police discovered that the window had been interfered with.
The incident happened on Sunday night at around 1.30 am. A night guard at the bank said he noticed strange movements in the banking hall and raised the alarm. He called the bank manager who alerted the police.
The police moved into the bank in Nyamira Town and cordoned off the building.
"We tracked his movements by reviewing the bank's CCTV footage. We were able to follow how he moved from the banking hall to the offices and eventually into a toilet. He sneaked out through a vent but he didn’t go far because he ended up in the basement of the locked building where we finally arrested him,” Sang said.
Police have since established that the boy is a student at a secondary school in Nyamira County.
Sang said they are still investigating the matter to establish if there were any other people involved. No money, or any property, was lost during the incident.

FLORIDA POLICE OFFICER GETS SUCKED IN TO DRAINPIPE DURING FLOOD RESCUE.

Florida police officer William Hollingsworth tried to save a person who was trapped in floodwaters while putting his life at risk. However, despite best efforts, both men got sucked into a drainage pipe. The horrific incident was recorded on camera and the gripping video was shared on the social media platform.

Escambia County Deputy William Hollingsworth was carried almost 100 feet in the drainage pipe beneath a four-lane highway by the water along with the man in distress before the two resurfaced on the other side, said the Escambia County Sheriff's Office on Friday.

Escambia County has been facing severe weather and torrential downpours for several days which reached its peak on Friday morning. The sheriff's office stated Hollingsworth was on patrol duty to help the motorists who were stuck in rapidly rising waters.

The deputy, during his patrol, met a man who was stuck in a disabled vehicle.

Terrifying moment captured
The terrifying moment when the floodwaters captured Hollingsworth amid rescue was captured by the body camera footage. The police officer was dragged underwater by the water and was sucked by a drainage pipe by the side of the road.

For almost 30 seconds, all the noises in the video were drowned out by the roaring water as Hollingsworth is seen tumbling through the darkness. Through some miracle, the police officer along with the distressed man came out of the other side of the highway, where there was an outlet.

In the video, Hollingsworth is seen immediately rushing to help the other man once he is out of the pipe. "You okay, buddy? Can you believe what just happened to us?" exclaimed the deputy. He then asked the man to breathe and helped him get on his feet. "I almost died," the shocked citizen said.

Hollingsworth brought the man to a secured place and called other officers for help. The police officer was thanked for all the assistance by the man in distress.

12 Voters Want Court To Declare Speaker Wetangula Was Unlawfully Elected:

A dozen voters have sued the Kenya Kwanza coalition for allegedly poaching elected leaders from other parties.
The petitioners claim that the coalition has violated the people’s sovereignty in multi-party democratic states as established in the constitution.

“The 1st respondents and its leaders have violated the basic requirements for political parties set out in Article 91 of the constitution,” reads the court documents.

The 12 now want the court to declare that Kenya Kwanza is a minority party in the National Assembly based on the elections of members of the National Assembly held on August 9, 2022.

They also want the court to declare that Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula was unlawfully elected and should stop serving as Speaker.

The petitioners are blaming the Registrar of Political Parties for failing to ensure that Kenya Kwanza adheres to the code of conduct for political parties set out in the political parties Act, 2011.

“She has neglected or otherwise failed to discharge her obligation to respect, uphold and defend the Constitution,” they argue.

Kenya, EU Sign Economic Partnership Agreement;

Kenya and the European Union have reached an agreement on an Economic Partnership, a development poised to boost trade and investment relations between the EU and Kenya.
The discussions, which were held in the presence of President William Ruto, were concluded by European Commission Executive Vice-President and EU Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis and Cabinet Secretary of Kenya's Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry, Moses Kuria.

The agreement aims to put into effect the provisions of the 2014 Economic Partnership Agreement between the EU and the East African Community (EAC) Partner States.

It follows a decision made by the East African Community Heads of State Summit on February 27th, 2021.

According to a joint communique issued by CS Kuria and his EU counterpart, the Kenya-EU agreement will continue to be accessible to EAC member states.

"Kenya is one of our most important partners on the African continent. Today, we welcome taking our economic partnership to the next level. With this agreement, we

"We are establishing a deepened relationship between us and creating new opportunities for our businesses that will increase trade and investment," Valdis Dombrovskis, Executive Vice-President and EU Commissioner for Trade, said on Monday.

According to Dombrovskis, with consideration for the different stages of development for the two countries, Kenya’s exports to the EU will be tariff-free from day one, while tariffs on EU exports will be liberalised over time and not on all products.

On the other hand, CS Kuria says the agreement, which provides duty-free-quota-free market access for exports and certainty in the trading regime, will enable the private sector to trade and invest with confidence and expand employment opportunities for Kenyan youth and support livelihoods.

"The agreement reflects our shared commitment to trade sustainably and create opportunities to integrate value-chains between Kenya
