Yesterday we got news that there is a communications blackout in Gaza. Needless to say, while the occupation has been ongoing, the recent events and public discussions here in Europe definitely marks a cultural shift in the conciousness of us living in countries that, irrespective of us wanting to be seen as individuals, profit from genoc*de elsewhere.

My Kurdish family has experienced both sides, fleeing genoc*de as well as seeking refuge, though compared to many they survived. While i'd rather not dwell on personal matters, i just want to offer a complicated voice of compassion for those who just realized, for those who been realizing, for those feeling displaced, for those anxiously scrolling on their phones, for those who know there are genoc*des not covered by the news, for those who are just having a hard day, for those who feep powerless, its ok, we see you and feel you. You are doing as much as you can and if anything, its best to come together in person, cherish moments of sharing our grief, pain, and joy together.

Grateful for for putting this fundraiser together, all donations will go to Medical Aid for Palestine, and if you cant donate come by to learn, dance, cry, give a hug 🫶❤️

Coming Saturday I am returning to the beloved blue sea container with a monthly radio show: Ecdysis. Being a leo means I cant do this on me ones, so I invited one of my fav DJ's: .rey whose mixes and live sets are full of energy, bops that go bang, and lots of breaks n jersey bass. Ecdysis is a very fancy term for the process of molting and shedding which both arthropods and reptiles undergo as a natural part of their life cycles. Consider it a metaphor for rebirth, or maybe im just secretely a reptile. I will start the first hour and also give a little background on how I chose my DJ name and what Shahmaran means to me if you're curious. We're looking very serious but to the contrary are happy to announce that we will be joining forces again! This time to catch the radio waves with our new show 'Transcience'. Transience to us means accepting change as inherent to the experience of being. We will be having conversations with friends, artists, and between ourselves to talk about anything and everything related to change and impermanence. And of course lots of hot sexy club sounds ❤️🎶

Growing pains...
