We want to allow the foster parent(s) to focus on building relationships and provide some financial relief from adding a new household member. Although there is a stupid to care for foster children it is not received until the following month and is often not enough to cover the initial costs of a child being placed. It is very important to us that children have new items with tags so that they can have something that is their own in a home that is new to them with people they do not know. We deliver a meal, words of encouragement, at least one new outfit, pajamas, shoes, hygiene items, and a comfort item for the child within 24 hours of being placed in a home. While this is the only program we are offering at this time, we have huge dreams for what Fostering Families will do for biological, foster, and adoptive families in our community in the future.
