I have a request:

I've been thinking of an idea for a series, but I would probably need quotes from other people. In the process of kind of working through some college trauma I've been thinking a lot about negative things people, especially teachers and mentors, said to me. I've heard several stories from friends and coworkers about how something a mentor said to them was really crushing, and I really want to make a response to it and comment on the power of words.

Now here comes the request. I need more statements then the few I have. If you have a story you're willing to share, what's a negative comment a teacher/mentor made to you that really hurt and stuck to you?

I've been thinking about doing this (and I watched this video earlier and was really moved), about sometimes sharing some inspirational art videos as well as sharing my own art on here.

As an artist who also loves psychology, I've really enjoyed this channel. This video really hit close to home, and if you haven't seen Soul I seriously recommend you watch it (and then come on here and watch this video). It definitely tackles a lesson I think I've been having to learn the last few years, and balancing passion with purpose, especially feeling really emotionally burnt out with art for several years after art school.

Anyway, just thought I'd pass on some inspiration. :)
