How early do you think children should be introduced to the concept of money?
Here are my goals for February 2024.
Honestly, it’s strange for me to create financial goals. I’ve been budgeting for years and never really sat down to think of goals I want to achieve other than just crossing my fingers my budget is correct lol. This month I decided a budget isn’t enough and I want to do MORE. This is my more.
1 I need to create more funds. We’re no strangers to side hustles. We’ve done door dash, rover, sold items on Offer up, FB Marketpalce and more. However, this is usually because we NEED the money and are desperate to be honest. This time I have a goal in mind to add extra AFTER cash stuffing. I’m already $378 into this goal on the 6th day of February.
2 paying off credit cards used to be difficult because I would use them immediately after. I’ve created additional income with budgeting that allows me not to have to do this anymore and will also allow us to pay down debt. I do have a debt confession video coming soon but I honestly just want to start attacking debt when/where I can. Some may say, why do you save extra money and not put that towards debt? Simple answer, I don’t want to. I want to make sure I have an emergency savings before aggressively attacking debt. I want to make sure all of things that may hinder my debt payoff are not an issue. So this month 2 of my smaller cards with $500 or less of a balance will be paid off.
3 savings challenges are so much fun for me! They literally feel like a challenge, I’ve added them to my budget and also add any additional money I may have left over from my cash wallet to my challenges. I will be completing 2 of my challenges, I’ve been working on this time.
What are some of your financial goals for this month? I’ll be checking in at the beginning of March to let you all know how it’s went for me.

If you are new to cash budgeting “sinking funds” can be confusing to you. I love sinking funds because it’s a nice way to tuck away money for things we may need later.
When my husband and I moved into our house I was cash stuffing from September to November and we were able to buy ALL our new home essentials.
Right now, starting over with cash stuffing my most important sinking fund is savings which can be emergency savings, bail money and etc.
What would be your most important sinking fund?
