Sam and I met in 1997, we both played at venues in Aberystwyth and we share the joy of techno, both of us started the Freerotation journey in it’s infancy, I remember carrying speakers across the lawn in Steevio and Suzzie’s little house whilst Steevio finalised a track he wanted to play for us. Now here we are 25 years later introducing the music we love to the world. Starting with the soon to be released Ep of Sam producing the most delightful tunes and me supporting and promoting him. MACH RECORDINGS is a techno label based in Machynlleth, Wales which is twinned with Belleville Michigan the birthplace of techno music. Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson, commonly known as 'The Belleville Three' are known as the architects of techno.
Sam Watson born and living in Machynlleth has been producing techno for 23 years. Sam's own style developed and infuenced by the deeply rooted Welsh free party techno scene, his 20 year residency at the prestigious Freerotation Festival and the sounds of european, Detroit, UK and Birmigham techno. MACH RECORDINGS will be a platform for not only Sam's music but up and coming Welsh producers and favourites in the scene.
The label's co-founder is Tristan Merry-Howe.
