It's been a GREAT summer of shows at Lake Of the Ozarks. On my right is JG, the owner of Shady Gators where I play 4 days a week. On my left is Chubby Carrier https://chubbycarrierzydeco.com, a Grammy winning zydeco artist who has been playing here for 29 years, from when it was Bayou Bill's. Tonight is his final show as he's retiring from the road. Which means, at 19 years t Shadys, I will now be the longest running act! Where did the years go?

Anyhow, Happy Trails Chubby. You are an excellent musician, and more importantly, a gentleman and a Family Man. It's fun seeing your daughter playing washboard with you tonight.

I'm down here for two more weeks starting tomorrow- Monday thru Thursday at Shadys and Saturday at Nautifish. Final show for the summer August 8th at Shadys and August 10th at Nautifish. Sounds like a good excuse for one last road trip to the Lake!

My summer shows have kicked in full blast at Shady Gator's and Nautifish at Lake Of the Ozarks. It's been really great so far, with good crowds and good times. I finish my first two weeks here this Saturday and then come home for about three weeks for lots of family fun. Then I come back for five more weeks here starting on July 8th. I had a summer job in college where I did mostly assembly line work for 8 hours a day at Sun Electric in Edison Park Chicago. This is MUCH better!

Either way, I think you'll REALLY love how Guy made my story come to life beyond my wildest dreams. He does the character voices and adds all the emotion, so it's a great new way to experience Calek's Tale, even if you've already read the book. While we were recording it, it gave both my wife and I chills more times than we could count. I plan to use Guy again to do Books Two and Three, so we'll record those after my summer touring season is over.

I know, that's a really long link but I can't figure out how to shorten the text and still keep the link.

A couple of notes:

If you search for Calek's Tale you might see a listing for Book Two that says 'out of stock' or 'limited availability.' That's the wrong link. There was an older test version of the book up on Amazon which you can only archive, not delete, so sometimes a search will show it. Just scroll down to find the right version, which is in stock and should come to you in a couple of days. Reply to this post or message me if you run into any problems.

I'm really excited about the comments and reviews I've been getting so far. The climax of the story is Book Three, which will come out in late May.

And as always, if you like either or both of the books, please leave a review on Amazon, because that really helps for a new project. When all three books are up, I'll start doing a lot of advertising and promotion, so anyone who gets the books now will have first editions before it's a New York Times Bestseller!

A lot of you have asked about Book Two. The picture attached here is the cover, and the book will be released by mid-April, with the climax, Book Three, coming out in mid June.

IN THE MEANTIME! I just had one of my favorite short stories published in All Worlds Wayfarer magazine, an excellent publication based in Washington State. The story is "Sailing Home," which is also the title of one of my fondest songs. I wrote this story back when I was playing in Key West, and there's a lot of personal emotion behind it, with me being on the road all those years performing while my wife and three kids were at home, and with my Mom dying of cancer way back in 1989. Wayne Faust - Christmas All Around

It's been quite a year, and REALLY quite a month of November. My big 70th Birthday celebration at home on the 4th was awesome, with 5 of my grandkids, both my sons, one daughter-in-law, and my wife taking the big birthday hike up a mountain in Colorado. I do that hike every year to show I'm not too old yet. :) The picture we took at the top of the mountain is included below.

Then my big birthday show in Chicagoland on the 18th was an amazing night. This summer I passed show number 7000 in my career, and I believe out of all those shows, this one was at the very top for me. Amazing turnout, amazing energy, and amazing good feelings. I'm incredibly blessed to have so many people who like to come to my shows. Although I won't be doing the Chicagoland show next November, another one is definitely in the future, maybe in two years, when I'll be celebrating 50 years in Show Business! Phew!

And if that wasn't enough, my wife and I just got back from Arizona, where we celebrated Thanksgiving with my daughter's family and our two littlest granddaughters, ages 1 and 3.

But now I'm back in beautiful Colorado and it's Christmastime, my favorite time of the year. We already have some snow on the ground and I'll be getting my home ice rink in this week.

This Saturday, December 2nd, is my first public Colorado Christmas Show since the Bucksnort Saloon closed. (Someone just bought the place, so keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned for updates about that...

This year the Christmas show is at Wild Spirit Mountain Lodge in Guffey, Colorado. I've done several shows there this year, and it's a warm and wonderful place. It's in the mountains about an hour from Colorado Springs, and about 2 hours from Denver, but it's definitely worth a road trip. And this show should be especially fun, because I'll be doing all my funny Christmas songs, and lots of carols as well. Instead of "Will the Circle Be Unbroken," I think the closer will be all of us doing "White Christmas" in a circle around a rustic mountain restaurant.
