These beautiful boards have been finished and delivered! The stain and polycrylic brought out so many different wood grains.

It felt good to get out in the garage and rip some pallets today for all sorts of projects that have been on my mind...and a request for a stove and sink cover.

It's been a wild year...we got married in January, bought a house in February, moved in March, and I went back to work full time in April. The summer was spent with lots of landscaping and little projects that I'll get around to posting soon. It was good for the soul to get creative again.

A little dark humor with this one.

I've learned a lot making things with pallets. And also with having children...our current chairs are about to reach the end of their life span due to constant climbing and spills, so this idea was borne: the ladder chair. The toddler tested them out yesterday, so now we begin sanding and...staining? Not sure because I love this blonde wood.

Gonna be a good weekend! Over 1k page likes and the patio is officially finished (minus ten feet of trim because a family of cats moved in). Lots of stone landscaping and decor to add...but this behemoth of a project is done after a little over two months. More photos to follow as we wrap things up...

The front patio is now connected to the back entryway! Lots of trim work to finish and also filling in the odd spaces with a little rock garden...this project knows no end but it is a huge transformation from what it once was.

Built EXACTLY to fit, from concept to completion in two (of the hottest) days. Incredibly necessary since we took everything out of the entryway to redo the floor and then had to reorganize that before the storm rolled through. Baskets from the Aldi "Aisle of Shame" to round out the storage solutions. My favorite part is the raw edge of a few pallets. Love how they look.

Such a gorgeous looking pallet...but I already have plans to dismantle so let's just enjoy the beauty before the saw comes out.

Put in some mulch between the sandbox and patio...even the FedEx driver admired the changes! Still a long road ahead as we wrap the patio around to the back deck, but this project is coming along nicely!

Still a long way to go, but we've accomplished so much in two weeks. Getting closer to creating a patio oasis...

Today was the start of an overly ambitious project...good thing I had help (he was hauling dirt and rocks out for me). Plan to cover it with slats...lots more work to come...

Pallets and chicken wire?! My Pinterest board is overflowing with crafts...can't wait to get back at it!

I know I've been absent for a few months...two kids under 3, working full time, and all of life's responsibilities have me a bit overwhelmed at times. But with warm weather on the horizon, I hope to resume my nightly trips to the shed to start working on all of the ideas I have floating around. Thanks for the continued support!

Went back to work following maternity leave and was greeted to a wonderful sight. Still a bit of a zoo in the house, but we've started ripping pallets apart and trimming them up. Feels good to be back...my Pinterest board is getting out of hand...

Also trying to figure out what I want to do with that sweet yellow pallet on the bottom with the foreign language on it...

Some things I don't recommend include redecorating your living room with a toddler and a newborn during the hottest month of the year. But...we got it done! I have great little helpers that assisted in this pallet wall. I am obsessed!

The trapezoid project...our new faux fireplace/TV stand! Years ago I saw a TV show where the apartment had an inoperable fireplace so they used it to store books and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. This project got a little bigger than I would have liked but that's okay...more room for more books!

This project was ready for assembly prior to baby...but then baby arrived and things went haywire. I was finally able to complete it so now we have a custom toy bin to hold maybe a small portion of the toys currently scattered around the house. Jed was very excited to have little tractors to play with by the "big tractor."
