I love bling... I cannot tell a lie. But when one of my favorite big rings lost one of the wings of its beautiful swooping bird, I mourned. Then I set to work. Took the broken wing (I had a Mister mister moment as well) and put it in my trash stash to make a future treasure, then found this STATEMENT brooch that I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby. I yanked what was left of the bird off the ring band and nearly burned the house down, but the end result is below... got me to thinking about Christmas and how much sentimental value is actually priceless, so if you have a favorite piece of jewelry and you'd like to make it into something grander or gifted, reach out! These can be customized for any place in the great state of Missouri. They are only $10 customized and here is why: the wood is scrap wood from a factory in CoMo, the ribbon is remnant ribbon and the stickers go way back to my days of obsessive scrapbooking. The $10 price is also recycled... we reinvest every dollar that we make in equipment and the procurement of more "trash." So if you have an upcoming wedding, birthday, baby shower or just want to give a gift to a friend or coworker, we can pop these babies out pretty quick and you get to be the rockstar.

FREE IDEA: Sharpie and alcohol Fourth of July tie-dye-ish shirt. You'll need a white t-shirt, a piece of cardboard or some kind of barrier to slip into the shirt so it doesn't bleed to the back, a red sharpie, a blue sharpie, a small spray bottle and 91% Isopropyl Alcohol.
Lay your shirt out flat (this is a great way to use a white t-shirt that you might have accidentally got some schmulz on and are considering trashing) and put the barrier between the top of the shirt and the bottom. Draw your design with the sharpies (firework shapes are super cute as well!) Spray the markered areas with alcohol - the more you spray, the more the color spreads! And suddenly, you are a patriot!
HINT: This is super fun to do on those dirty ol' cheap canvas shoes that you think are unsavable - use all the colors in a dot pattern and spray three times for a tie-dye effect!

FREE IDEA: Milk jugs/tea jugs/punch jugs... jugs in general are annoying... stop giggling. So, have you ever thought about incorporating those jugs into your wardrobe? (stop laughing!) Here's how: rinse the jug out and let it dry - putting them out on the porch in the sun will warm them up and make them easier to chop up. So, chop them up. in geometric pieces, in long strips, whatever strikes your fancy. If you have a pair of old earrings around, you can remove the posts or the ear wires from them and start styling your earrings - as simple or as intricate as you like! You can even use a glass glaze to change the color! Simple, free, fun and they make really fun gifts. You can also make pendants and bracelets... make more, leave less!

FREE IDEA: I miss the years of Kyser wearing rainboots and outgrowing them - they made such cute little planters on the front porch. Here's how you can turn a pair of old boots or shoes (I did high heels once - too cute!) into a cute planter. Get your kicks and depending on the sole of the shoe either use scissors to cut small slits in the bottom for draining or drill holes into them using your husband's drill without telling him. Fill it with potting soil, or if you are like me and can't keep plants alive, some gravel for weight and put the blooms in the boots, or shoes. Caution: Flip flops do not work for this. You can hang them from a fence or just set them on the steps of your front porch! Two new planters and less waste!

PSYCHO upgrade of the day! This sign was made was trashed particle board that was salvaged (read dumpster diver!) It is sealed and will stand up to outdoor use.
