Friends, let us turn our eyes to the heavens. The skies today are amazing, presenting a glorious view. This magnificent firmament reminds us that even in difficult times when storms rage, brighter days await when we have faith.
Much like the disciples of old who were fishermen, tax collectors, and tentmakers, we, too, have humble vocations. Though the market squalls and headwinds buffer us, our work is nevertheless meaningful, and with perseverance, it will sustain and expand our ventures.
The heavens have ordained that through dedication and righteous principles, small and large businesses can prosper, lifting up individuals, families, and communities. Like loaves and fishes, basic services and goods can multiply, serving many more when the Spirit moves hearts and hands together.
The sky speaks not just of tranquil breezes but energetic gales that empower windmills—and fill sails. Trade winds were made for voyages bearing precious cargo. So, too, we are called to voyage on, however unlikely it seems that modest endeavors can journey far and wide.
But how far and wide did the Redeemer’s legacy sail? Let that inspire! With a vision for how our work can brighten more than our corner of the sky, who knows what influence what lasting heritage our efforts may leave?
As we consider the expanse above—in its clarity, storms and stars alike—let it instill perspective. May we see opportunity everywhere; may we have imagination to grasp purpose; may we find motivation to channel passions and talents into enterprises that serve. The results may be miraculous. That is the Spirit that sustained biblical businesses old and new. That same Spirit sustains us today. Let us have eyes to see and faith to journey on!

Let’s examine another theory put forth by those who try to disprove the truth of Christ’s bodily resurrection called the ‘Swoon Theory’. In his book, The Passover Plot, Hugh J. Schonfield theorises that Jesus simply swooned, was taken down from the cross, and was thought to be dead. Then in the coolness of the tomb, He revived, came out and convinced His disciples that He’d actually risen from the dead. It raises some interesting questions. For example, how come, for eighteen hundred years prior to this theory, neither friends nor foes of Christianity ever mentioned it? And what about the Roman centurion who pierced Christ’s side with a spear, and blood and water came out—empirical evidence that life ceased because the blood had separated into its constituent elements? And what about the testimony of the centurion sent by Pilate: a man who dealt and trafficked in death, whose business it was as an executioner to know that Jesus was dead? Then there’s the question of the grave clothes. Jews customarily wrapped dead bodies in grave clothes and used dozens of kilograms of spices between the folds, sealing the garments around the co**se like a mummy. The head was also wrapped. How could Jesus have breathed? And how could a man in such a weakened condition remove the great boulder that sealed His tomb and overcome the Roman guards? It takes more faith to believe in the swoon theory than it does to believe the truth of what really happened! Christ is risen!
