MCHS Golden Aces Baseball

One of our own is signing his letter of intent to play college baseball at Oakland City University today at 5:30! We are proud that his worth ethic and commitment to the game has paid off for him. Congrats A5!

Andrew Gillihan, senior at Mt. Carmel High School will sign a National Letter of Intent to play Baseball at Oakland City University. His signing will take place on Wednesday, December 20th at 5:30pm in the Mt. Carmel High School Gymnasium. The public is encouraged to attend.

PLEASE READ!

Due to possible weather later this morning, we are moving the last day of Golden Aces Baseball Camp to tomorrow (Thursday) at the same times. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but want to make sure the boys have the best experience possible and definitely avoid a chaotic rainout situation for working parents.

BIG TIME congrats to all 5 Golden Aces who secured places on LIC all-conference teams! We were represented well and all these boys deserved the honors.

Another note… we will do 1.5 hour sessions instead of 2 hours, due to the expected high temperatures. Session 1 will be from 10:00-11:30, and Session 2 will be from 1:00-2:30. Thanks and Go Aces!

Thank you to Billy Stinson and Jody Smith with Country Financial for donating snacks to the boys for the ride home yesterday. We had awesome support from the community this season!

Golden Aces season ends in a regional championship game loss to Anna-Jonesboro. The season ends with a 17-11 record. Proud of the boys for all the work they put in this season, and thank you to all the families/fans who helped make this season one for the memory books. Go Aces!

SCHEDULE CHANGE!

Due to unplayable field conditions at Carmi, today’s regional championship game will now be played at Southeastern Illinois College (Harrisburg), with first pitch at 12:00. Go Aces!

Our regional championship game for tomorrow has been moved to an 11:00 a.m. start time.

Mt. Carmel v. Anna-Jonesboro @ 11:00 a.m. Game will be played in Carmi.

ACES WIN!

Aces defeat Carmi 7-2 in an intense regional semifinal matchup. We collected 9 hits, and some crucial ones in the middle of the game, and had another 0 error performance on defense! Mounter didn’t have his best stuff on the mound tonight but grinded his way through 5 innings. Bunch of contributions up and down the lineup and so proud of the guys for bringing the energy and being awesome teammates! We definitely won the battle of the dugouts.

ONE MORE! Aces play in the regional championship game Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. against a tough Anna-Jonesboro squad. The game will be played @ Carmi.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support tonight, we had an amazing crowd of maroon and gold!!

GAME DAY!!

Golden Aces travel to Carmi for their regional semifinal matchup against Carmi. First pitch will be approximately 6:00 p.m. following the other semifinal matchup. We would love to see a lot of maroon and gold making the trip!! But if not… you can catch us on the radio as well! Go Aces!

The regional semifinal game today against Carmi has been postponed until tomorrow, due to unplayable field conditions @ Carmi. The Aces will travel to Carmi tomorrow, game time approximately 6:00 p.m.

Golden Aces (16-10 overall, 4-3 conference) end the regular season with a dominant performance in a 13-1 win over Edwards County. What a season it’s been but we aren’t done yet!!

Aces open up regional play on Wednesday in a semifinal matchup against Carmi, at Carmi. The game will begin at approximately 6:00 p.m. It would be great to see a lot of maroon and gold making the trip to support this group!

Golden Aces (15-10 overall, 4-3 conference) get a big road win against Robinson by the score of 9-0… the bats woke up for the Aces today, and we played a perfect defensive game behind Banksy’s complete game shutout. Nice way to end the conference season… Go Aces!

Golden Aces (14-10 overall, 3-3 conference) drop another close game by the score of 3-1 to a solid Flora squad. Our next action is tomorrow in our last conference game against Robinson on the road. First pitch @ 4:30 p.m.

JV will be in action tomorrow at Dee White Field against Marshall. First pitch @ 4:30 p.m.

Today’s conference game against Robinson has been rescheduled due to unplayable field conditions. We will now play Robinson on Wednesday, May 8 @ 4:30 p.m. Big thanks to Harrisburg for agreeing to cancel our game with them Wednesday so we can squeeze in our final conference game before postseason play begins next week.

Weather permitting, the Golden Aces play their last home game tomorrow against Flora. We would like a big crowd at Dee White Field to support us to an Aces W! First pitch @ 4:30 p.m.

Golden Aces (14-9 overall, 3-3 conference) drop a tough road game to Gibson Southern by the score of 3-1. Couldn’t get the bats going but a gritty pitching performance by our boy Mounter gave us a chance to win. We will get back on track next week. This group has always responded to tough times. Looking forward to our next matchup in a conference game @ Robinson this Monday. We don’t make excuses, you either do or you don’t. No moral victories. But… we know these boys will respond and have a great comeback week! Go Aces!

Golden Aces JV moves to 8-1 record tonight with their win over Red Hill. Really pleased with the strides this group is continuing to make, and look forward to their last few games next week!

Varsity is on the road tomorrow against Gibson Southern after a few days off. Boys should be ready to grind and compete. Go Aces!!

Come out to Dee White Field today as the Aces take on the Olney Tigers, and we also honor our 3 seniors on SENIOR DAY! There’s only a couple of home games left to come see these guys play. Senior day festivities begin at 4:15 and first pitch at 4:30! Go Aces!

Golden Aces (14-7 overall, 3-2 conference) finish off an undefeated week with a home win against Mt. Vernon (IN). We had an AWESOME home crowd again! Time for a much needed couple of days off before we get back to it Monday. We play Olney at home this Monday for SENIOR DAY @ Dee White Field. Go Aces!

Golden Aces (13-7 overall, 3-2 conference) take a big road conference win against Casey-Westfield by the score of 6-2. Cold and rainy conditions, but the mental toughness and gritty dudes we have pulled through again. We are in action at home tomorrow against Mt. Vernon (IN). Let’s pack Dee White Field and see this team get after it again tomorrow!! First pitch at 4:30 p.m.
