Another great example of Governor Whitmer’s misleading position on important issues.

I’ve had a few people share this with me. I have heard it’s valid, and I have heard it isn’t.
I’m interested in what others think about it.

I am happy to announce I was officially sworn in as State Rep. for the 47th District.
I appreciate the support of each and every one of you that helped me get here.
I pledge to always stand up for our Constitution and to do my best to support the constituents of the 47th District.

I am pleased to announce I have been assigned to work with State Rep. Phil Green and State Rep-Elect John Roth to propose healthcare policy ideas, including mental healthcare.

Our discussion this morning covered many areas of concern including physical health, behavior health, pharmaceutical issues and healthcare provider issues. Also included in this discussion was first responder and veteran mental health issues, which many of you know I take very personally.

It’s important for my constituents to know that even though I won’t be sworn in until after the first of the year, I am already working as part of a subcommittee that will help shape policy for 2021.

When politicians run for office, we commonly hear the same talking points about transparency and open discussion regarding important issues and being accountable to the voters. As sheriff, I tried to live up to that promise and was outspoken about important issues regarding the daily operations of my office. I was transparent with the media about issues within our department because I believed the taxpayers had the right to know what was going on.

I ran for State Representative under that same premise.

Like you, I am frustrated with the lack of solid information regarding the certification process by the canvassers in Michigan as well as Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada and Georgia. Equally frustrating is our Federal elected officials have been silent about these issues, leaving many of us to rely on news organizations and social media for information.

I have listened over the past several days to President Trump's legal team – especially as it pertained to the Pennsylvania elections. It’s extremely concerning that in these five states, President Trump was leading when the poles closed but mail-in ballots completely changed the course of the election.

I can tell you, as a former police officer, many of these allegations – backed up by affidavits – gives me great concern about the accuracy of our entire election process. There needs to be a complete investigation in each of these five states if we as Americans can or will ever trust election results again.

On a state level, I have been involved with our Michigan elected officials – including our current State Representatives – with updates on President Trump's appeal process. I want to reassure everyone your elected officials are very involved in making sure our elections are conducted fairly.

I am upset our Governor has yet to sit down with leadership teams from the House and Senate to discuss these inconsistencies with our election process. The blatant disrespect we see coming from her – as well as from the Secretary of State and Attorney General – only creates more doubts about the fairness and accuracy of our elections.

This should not be about Democrats, Republicans or Independents. It should be about all of us as Americans. Our history has shown us that America is special, and the ability to be governed by people we Americans vote for is the very cornerstone of this great country. Our greatest generation – the WWII men and women – sacrificed so much for our freedoms. We must stand together to protect our constitution rights, along with our way of life. We must make sure that we have a fair and honest election process that all Americans can trust.

I will take office officially on January 13, 2021, when the 101st legislative session is scheduled to take the oath of office, and I will give my constituents updates on issues as I get them. As voters, you have a right to expect answers from your elected representatives, and I want you to know I respect that right.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you safe and happy Thanksgiving.
