So , and I (a.k.a. .l.tcollective ) did our first stall yesterday!! I am so proud of all of us and I'm so pleased with how well it went. Thank you to everyone who bought something from us. PART EIGHT IN THE COLLECTION:
“The Lust of Us”.

It is obvious that this piece is very provocative which fully fulfils what I had originally envisioned for it. One of the protagonists on the left can be seen with his paramour. I mention that she is his paramour as he can be seen with a wedding ring on his finger. I think this is one of the key examples of lust hence why it’s the foreground of the image.

I wanted the eyes to portray a desire for the viewer consequently creating a connection between the viewer and the image. The “love” hormones oxytocin and dopamine have an effect on pupil size. When you're sexually attracted to someone your brain gets a boost of these chemicals ultimately resulting in dilated pupils. As for the bo***ge gear and ‘ # # #’ I wanted to show something that is very sexual and ‘lusted’ over.

The punishment in Hell is to be smothered in fire and brimstone which is illustrated by candles and flames. These could also portray how one may want to create a romantic setting. The song I associate with lust is “Sudden Desire” by Hayley Williams. I remember listening to it and hearing some of the lyrics and thinking “oh that’s quite intense”, then I read in an interview she thought the same. I thought it was a good match for the piece.
