A message from US International Council on Disabilities board Member and person with Albinism, Mr. Phillip Mason:

"Unity within diversity transcends all Human Rights movement, and we see how people from different cultures come together to celebrate not just our similarities but our differences as well. This year “Made to shine” is this theme for International Albinism Awareness Day . It’s timely to consider how skin color isn’t what unites or differentiate us; it’s the value that is embedded in each and everyone one of us."

Global CBIS

We are a group of recognized leaders in the disability rights movement, we have come together to seize an urgent opportunity for disability rights. The convergence of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities (CRPD) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have opened up important spaces and dialogue for people with disabilities to impact decision-making to secure disability rights, and to lend their perspective and creativity to inform more inclusive policies across all sectors.

In joining as a Consortium for Building Inclusive Societies we combine our collective experience to promote the leadership and civic participation of disabled people’s organizations in decision-making forums in community, national, and international spheres. We have worked together in various ways over many years, and have important experience and skills gained through our individual contributions to disability rights.
