HIV is just a very high typhoid 🙆

While having a conversation with a friend who came to visit my Mom, he started telling this story about how medical personnel exaggerate illness.

At the beginning of the story, I just said to myself, "Mind your business and behave yourself" but halfway through I already knew I was going to intervene.

There was no way in this world, I'd let another ignorant person perish..

It got to a point in his story where he talked about how he saved a woman who nearly ended her life because she was told she was HIV-positive.

It was a Heroic act no doubt but what had me shouting was when he said he told her "HIV was just very high typhoid" in a bid to comfort her..

"Ahhh, Oga how?" was my first reaction..

It's really sad that in this year 2023 and with how much the world has evolved, many people still believe HIV is nothing but a ploy from the devil..

But I don't feel sick...

That's the kind of statement I get from patients once in a while when they're asked to do some routine tests and I'm here to clear the air on that..

Let me tell you a story...

A few months ago, I felt very sick, so sick I was so sure that my Malaria parasite test result was going to have (+++) but when the result came out I had no Malaria and my Widal test came out clear too..

I was surprised and confused, I felt sick, I had fever every other night. At the end of the end I was told to go home and rest.

A week after that, I felt better and went about my daily business all strong and healthy.

A month passed and then two and out of curiosity I decided to go test again and I was surprised yet again..

I had (++) of Malaria and a Widal result that would put Salmonella to shame😂...

I was really sick but I felt healthy..

I was asymptomatic ( absence of signs and symptoms in an unhealthy individual).

I was a sick healthy person..

And this happens to most people, that's why it's always advisable to visit the clinic once every two months for routine tests..

You'd never know how sick you are until you get tested....

Don't wait until you get sick...

Finding it hard to sleep at night can be due to different factors, maybe a bad day at work, stress from taking care of the kids, something we can't get over or oversleeping during the day and that's totally fine.

But finding it hard to sleep at night over a period of time?

Insomnia is a sleep disorder that makes it hard to fall or stay asleep at night.

Kay has been married to Dami for a few years now and they've been living happily and practically breathed only when they were together.
