Vei keda na vakaitikotiko e Aotearoa, ni vinakata mo ni ota salusalu, sa rawa ni o ni na ota voleka toka ga e Okaladi.

Meet the team behind Laveti 👏🙏

Na yacaqu o Serafimi Naulumatua. O au mai Lomaloma, Vanua Balavu, Lau, vasu i Tubou, Lakeba, Lau.

I draw my passion and drive from working towards a clear vision. My humble beginnings started from Delanavesi, in a small corrugated house with my parents and 6 siblings. Today, I’m a university graduate, residing in Auckland, New Zealand and currently a Banking Consultant at ANZ.

From childhood, an idea was implanted in my mind, and somehow I always envisioned the life I have now. I didn't do it myself obviously. It has been a blessing of support from my family, relatives, great friends, and a whole lot of good timing! I suspect a lot of me, is a result of my Pu – Laveti (Maternal grandmother).

On top of having a full time job as a care giver, my Pu would also make handicrafts after work and weekends to sell at big handicraft shows. To little Sera, it was like magic! She would leave with her handicrafts in the morning, and by the evening she would return with food shopping. Pu Laveti would carry a different glow about her, feeling proud of her accomplishments and excited to show us our treats. That 'magical' feeling has always stayed with me.

Handicraft was one of the sources of income that kept us afloat during our financial hardships growing up. I'd like for many children and families to feel that 'magic' during these challenging times. That’s our vision at “Laveti," - to empower, uplift and inspire our Fijians especially in the handicraft industry.

We have a long journey ahead of us, and it will not always be smooth sailing. However, I firmly believe that a positive outcome is in favour of those with good intentions, with focus on a clear vision and a genuine desire to serve others.

We are excited to serve you that 'magical' feeling - to empower, inspire and uplift - to bring you a feeling of "Bula!" where ever you are in the world!

Masi or tapa is a traditional material which is made by the inhabitants of many of the islands in the Pacific region. This material is made from the bark of the young mulberry tree, which is soaked in water, beaten with mallets and formed into sheets. After drying, the Masi is decorated with traditional designs created by stencils, patterns and/or free-hand drawing.

Viti CreatioNz offer you earrings made from Masi, with designs and prints that are unique to the Fiji Islands.

Don’t miss out by buying yours today!
