Today is my “Diaversary”!! It’s not the life sentence or condition that I actually want to celebrate... BUT I want to celebrate the fact that I’m still here! I’ve fought for my life 24/7 for 32 years now! I’m a strong, almost 54 year old passionate, driven and grateful woman! ✨
I’m really not sure how I’m still here. Diabetes is a silent disease and a thief of joy. It’s not only a million injections, it’s the highs and lows and wanting to give up! Diabetes is mentally and physically exhausting. This disease never takes a break. It’s being a functioning pancreas and manually doing something your body should naturally do. I’m not looking for pity or sympathy. I want to bring awareness to a disease that is a mentally, physically and financially a hardship on the daily! I thank God for today’s technology that makes it easier for people like me to manage because it hasn’t always been this way. I literally cry daily for the parents and children that aren’t fortunate enough to have this technology. My heart breaks for the children and parents that die from this disease daily because they don’t have the means or access to the best medicine. People have to ration their medicine or go without. I have met so many people through social media that have lifted me up when I didn’t feel like going on. Today I celebrate my life as a diabetic and cheers to strength, health, family, and awareness! 💯💉✨

In the past, we often heard how frustrated patients were with laser hair removal because they did not get the results they hoped for after several treatments. Intense pulsed light for laser hair removal just wasn't effective enough. But for the past 2 years, I’ve been using The Gentle Max Pro Laser! The majority of my patients that have Fitzpatrick Skin Type 1-6 have been so pleased with their treatment!🤩 For patients who have the darkest skin type, or who have underlying sun damage, or have been out in the sun tanning, or who I know will be outside in the sun, I have the option of using the 1064nm Nd:YAG with great safety. 🙏 I want to protect everyone's overlying skin. I don't want to disrupt pigment and cause hypo- or hyperpigmentation after the treatment. So, I’m fortunate enough to basically be able to offer laser hair removal to ALL of our patients.
Typically, patients are treated at one-month intervals for five to seven treatments. Of course, some areas tend to respond more quickly than others, requiring fewer treatments. And other areas may be more challenging, requiring more than the average number of treatments. I never promise anything, but I can tell patients what the averages are. I typically treat at one-month intervals, but there are areas where the hair cycle tends to be a little bit longer, such as the lower legs where you can generally wait up to two months in between treatments.
