It’s another birthday for us! What a blessing and a journey it has been together for the both of us in medicine and in life. We’re both so grateful for our family, friends and all of the support from you all along the way! Here we go for another trip around the sun!

June is men’s health month so this morning Local 3 News we decided to touch on two big areas in men’s health, prostate cancer and mental wellbeing. Prostate cancer is a leading cause of cancer for men worldwide and screenings are crucial! Similarly we encourage all men to take the time to open up about any mental health struggles and talk to their providers about them. Men are four times more likely to lose there lives to mental health struggles then there’s female counterparts.

This week we had a great opportunity in partnership with and to talk to high school students, and expose them to a little of what we do in this field. Had a great time supporting the Medical Foundation of Chattanooga’s GLOW event! A fundraiser for a great cause, and a wonderful evening!

This week we had a surprise visit to our clinic by , Medical Director at the Buz Standefer Lung Center, and .draft , former NFL player. They are working to tell the REAL story behind lung cancer: anyone can get lung cancer .

Lung cancer is the second most common cancer, and is the leading cause of cancer death and that goes for both smokers and non-smokers. While smoking is a significant risk factor, it is not the only risk factor you should consider as genetics and environment play a large role too. Next time you see your primary care provider see if you need to be screened!

We recently had the pleasure of speaking to and engaging with youth at a fund fundraising event hosted by Friends of Dean Park in our mother‘s hometown of Louisville, Mississippi. Louisville has always been a second home to us as we have family there. We feel blessed to be in the position that we are in and are grateful and truly humbled to have amazing support in order to be able to give to the local community for such an amazing cause! Always remember to reach back and give back. Stay humble and stay motivated!

Sometimes you just have to take a break and enjoy the moment to get ready for what’s next!
