This week, Instructor Drummond Kahn taught his Ethical Decision-Making for Government Employees and Roles in Assessing Internal Control for both managers and auditors in Pago Pago. Professionals working for the American Samoa Government were able to complete three courses for a total 24 CPE Credit Hours.
The Island Government Finance Officers Association (IGFOA) successfully convened its winter meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii, from December 12-14, 2023. Public sector finance leadership from various island jurisdictions joined together to share insights, formulate action plans, and strengthen a regional approach to financial management.

Over 100 Guam finance professionals joined PITI-VITI training to prepare for GASB-87 Lease Accounting Standards! The training was co-hosted by the Guam Office of Public Accountability and the Guam Department of Administration, and delivered on-site in Guam. Training and division-specific technical support will continue through the remainder of the week. Thanks to PITI-VITI instructors Frank Crawford and Chris Pembrook, and to the U.S. Department of the Interior's Office of Insular Affairs for their continued support of financial compliance and accountability in the Pacific.
ELDP CNMI alumni and friends gathered in Saipan last week with GSUSA program managers Jason Aubuchon and Monique Wedderburn. ELDP applications for the Class of 2023 are open until October 10th.
