Lost Art Reimagined

I'm an Artist, I'm in here to make life more interesting. At the very least, there's no room for boring.

Several months ago a client came to me with an idea that I couldn't pass up. Her whole life, every time she went to her grandparents house, she collected the brachiopod fossils that washed up on the beach. After years of of stone collecting from several generations of her family they had hundreds of fossils. She had seen one of my other tables on Facebook and asked if I could make a family heirloom dining room table for her with her fossil collection. Of course I was interested. Here's one of my favorite projects I've made to date.

I'm now accepting new custom furniture orders. Message me for more details.

The lights are underneath the epoxy and powered from a rechargeable USB power supply. The light speed pattern and color is customizable.

I'm now accepting custom orders for the first time since September. Message me for details, or just to work out daydreams of projects you want to see in your home someday in the future.

I made this wooden mallet for a client out of walnut, with a touch of spalted yellow birch and padauk. Any ideas what I should make next?

The cherry wood for this charcuterie board was a gift from another wood worker. I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do with it at first, but after thinking about it for a while I found three ideas for three separate boards from one slab. This one has stainless steel handles drilled into the wood itself with wood plugs in the center of the steel pipe. Stay tuned, the other two should be posted shortly. Check out my Etsy now, it's 40% off for the next week! https://www.etsy.com/listing/1218409318/cherry-charcuterie-board?click_key=0a87502c8b284ecd49300ec4aa3b40838308cbf2%3A1218409318&click_sum=1550d44d&ref=shop_home_active_1

I'm selling this epoxy river coffee table for $415 PM me for details.

I've been wanting to make a river table for a while now, but I didn't want to go the traditional route with it. When river tables were first made, they were cutting edge wood working that really pushed the limit of what it meant to be a wood worker. But from my point of view they've become much more mainstream recently. So my goal with this piece was to give a new twist to the standard river table.

I found a beautiful piece of wood with a huge crack in it, and I used an hatchet to crack it two more times. Then instead of filling the cracks with colored epoxy, I filled them with the shavings from the yellow birch itself. Then to add more character, I added black walnut shavings, then padauk and purple heart chips for their red and purple color.

Check Out my new lamp on Etsy https://www.etsy.com/listing/1186858175/city-lights-of-the-world-lamp?ref=listing_published_alert

This unique lamp was made using images from NASA of the earth at night. The city lights were laser engraved through the wood so that light would shine through resembling the view of the earth from space.

It is hand made in Michigan with an oak lamp shade, a walnut and epoxy base, a cherry inlay along the top, and the shade is supported with acrylic.

These chess pieces are made with cast brass and the red side is copper plated. The board itself is made from maple and walnut. This piece was finished in August of 2021

I was invited to my first art show with one week to prepare and I didn't have any inventory to sell. So I worked as quickly as I could to make as many things as I could. I ended up making several toy boats, this serving board, and a few cutting boards in the same style. Overall, the show was fairly slow and didn’t have many customers, but it was a good experience.

I made this light up river table from spalted curly maple and epoxy.
