On September 21, 2022, the country will mark the 50th anniversary of the declaration of martial law by the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. The Philippines' martial law history has been one of the most targeted subjects of disinformation. The disinformation campaign aims to sanitize the dark legacy of the martial law era while promoting the lie that the dictatorship was a golden age. The human rights community vowed to combat the widespread historical distortion of martial law atrocities.

| 📷: Roberto Rosales via Isa Avendaño-Umali, Super Radyo DZBB 594khz

Yes, you read that right! This year, the World Health Organization (WHO) reclassified burnout as a widespread "occupational phenomenon." 😫 With symptoms including exhaustion, mental detachment + reduced professional efficacy (to name a few!). 🧠 Click for more expert advice on relaxing in the age of burnout. ➡️ http://bit.ly/2rI3uPu

Dear Peace Educators,
Thank you for working and acting as principled representatives and relentlessly pursuing for peace. Please don’t get tired until those in power are responsive to the needs and rights of people in conflict.
Thank you U2!

Without peace are we just a piece?
Maybe we're all just living half-lives.

Inner peace = social harmony
I believe that human rights and peace come hand in hand. In order to create and maintain peace, human rights must be respected. For example, if we were to ignore the right to rest and leisure the people's mental health would eventually deteriorate, leading to a higher risk of multiple forms of aggression and violence. Peace and human rights come hand in hand and without respecting one, a cycle with both being disrupted would begin and continue.

When we care for each other we gain the strength to stand for what is right.
Our world today is indeed not a peaceful place anymore. Wars and chaos are evident and continue to occur in various countries across the globe. As I reflect on all of these happenings, I feel compassion among future generations. It is unfair for them to not experience how to live in a reassuring and peaceful environment. Thus, let us encourage first ourselves to be an advocate for peace. In this way, we could be able to achieve a flourishing environment. Given the fact that we are all provisioned with human rights and the choice to exercise them, let us learn to utilize them properly.
Dear Peace educators,
May you please continue to be an advocate for peace and continue to disseminate the importance and essence of it. I hope that a lot of individuals would have all the good intentions that you have in everything they do. We are so much grateful for having such individuals like you in this generation. Your positivity radiates among us and individuals like you are just what we needed in order to compensate with all of the unfortunate events around us.

Excellent post! We all need to pitch in and work for peace everyday, everywhere, for everyone ;)
Peace can be achieved when people learn to practice their rights. Human rights was made because every person deserves to be treated equally and fairly regardless of their sexuality, religion, culture, race, and social economic class. It was made to protect and allow everyone to live in peace and harmony and to voice out their own opinions and perspectives without being scared.
Dear peace educators, please enlighten the youth to be kind always and to respect each other despite our own differences. I know that this world is cruel sometimes but I hope that you will teach them to see the beauty in it and to help them believe that a better future is not impossible if we just learn how to love one another. I know that you will guide them to be a person who is compassionate, honorable and virtuous.

We peace educators can get emotionally and physically drained, forget to take care of ourselves, not get enough sleep, etc. Thank you for your heartfelt concern and reminder. ❤️
Dear Peace Educators,
"World peace begins with inner peace." - Dalai Lama
Please do not forget yourself in the midst of fighting for peace and rights of everyone else. You have the same rights as the ones you've fought and still fighting for. I understand that in certain cases you sacrifice yourself, even your life, for the sake of peace but please bear in mind the you deserve to rest, to take a break even just for a few minutes. "The right to rest and leisure"- I understand not everyone can afford it but I know you deserve it. I imagine it would be difficult to attain peace for the rest of the world if you aren't at peace with yourself.
