We are writing to address a troubling situation that has recently arisen, causing significant distress and impacting our reputation. Our dedicated team at Saving sage is currently experiencing harassment and slander due to an untrue post from an individual on social media.

This person has been making false accusations, spreading misinformation, and allowing others to leave hateful messages on our social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. Some of these messages have escalated to threats, which is deeply concerning.

To be clear… we were NOT involved in the rescue of puppies leaving a mother dog behind. In fact it is us that tends to go back for mother dogs (like our most recent Ava) when other people take puppies and leave moms on the street. Saving Sage was founded on the rescue of Sage who is a momma dog. Our rescue does 90% adults and 10% puppies.

Here is the story that sparked this unfortunate situation. It involves a mother dog and her puppies.

Two Good Samaritans, who saw a post about the dog family in need, went to help. The mother dog was very fearful and did not allow them to capture her. However, the puppies were roaming the streets and approaching people, posing a significant risk to their safety. Out of concern, the Good Samaritans took the puppies, ensuring they were spayed, neutered, and brought up-to-date on their vaccinations. They have been tirelessly working to trap the mother dog, investing in an expensive trap and making continuous efforts to rescue mom.

Our involvement began when one of our volunteers saw the post about the mother dog and reached out to offer assistance. Unfortunately, she was unable to get there within 48 hours and did not have the proper tools to trap mom, which led to the individual who posted about the dogs sending her numerous hateful messages. Despite our volunteer’s genuine intention to help, this person has continued to spread falsehoods about our organization, negatively affecting our reputation. The individual also works at vets office, and the puppies were not nursing puppies that depended on the mom. They could have very easily taken the puppies into their job, but they chose not to and instead bash people who are trying to help.
We want to make it clear that at saving sage we are deeply committed to the well-being of all animals, especially mothers!
We have rescued hundreds of mother dogs, often prioritizing their safety and care. In many cases, we have taken in mother dogs while collaborating with other rescues to ensure the puppies are also cared for. A recent example is Ava, a mother dog we rescued just the other day after another rescue left her on the street and took her two babies.

It is profoundly disheartening to receive such hatred and to see our hard-earned reputation being threatened. We kindly ask the individual spreading these lies and misinformation to stop immediately, as this only harms the animals we all aim to protect.

We want to make it clear to everyone that our ONLY involvement was attempting to help. We are not in possession of the puppies and have never been. That being said, we are grateful for the individuals who stepped up in this situation at their own expense who, to this very minute are still trying to rescue mom. They are heroes.

😭He was shot twice in the head and somehow is alive. One bullet went in and out of the his head on the jaw line. The second bullet was between the eyes at the top of his snout, and was lodged in the back of his throat, where they were able to extract 2/3 of the bullet, leaving 1/3 of the bullet fragment in him. The pos who did this is rejoicing! This dog needs to make it to help catch the scum who did this! PLEASE DONATE TONTHEIR GO FUND ME.

UPDATE: Randravion Brice has been located and is safe. Thanks to everyone for your assistance.

The Fort Pierce Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing male juvenile.

Randravion Brice left his residence on February 10th, 2024 between the hours of 11:00 a.m. to noon headed in an unknown direction. He was last seen wearing a blue hoodie sweatshirt and khaki jogger pants. He is known to frequent the Fort Pierce area of Avenue M and 25th Street.

Rest Easy

As many of you know, Dumpling was a gift to our program in May 2021 from the Moore family. She has turned out to be an amazing asset to our program and is one of our core horses that help us in hospitals across Central Florida. We adore her 🥰

This week we wanted our followers to take a few minutes to remember Madison Moore. She is a forever seventeen year old girl that passed away December 12, 2017. She left an enormous void to those who loved her most. She was an amazing miniature horse lover, avid, and enthusiastic youth in the Orange Blossom Miniature Horse Club where she loved to drive her minis. She was a champion and travelled all over the United States.

We share her story to everyone that asks how Dumpling made it into our program. I simply state her family chose our organization to keep her memory alive. Madison is still sharing her love of tiny horses even after she passed away through Dumplings work. Each visit we get to share Madison’s story.

Please, the holiday season is so hard for those who experience the loss of a loved one so close to the holidays- keep her family in your thoughts and prayers this week as those old wounds and waves of grief feel new. If you see Dumpling out- ask us how she was placed in our program. Help us keep Madison’s memory alive 💜
