The layout is 9.8m long (32.1ft) By 3.7m wide (12ft 1) which includes the operating area in the centre of the layout, the layout is Dcc on one line and dc/Dcc on the other, it has a 16 lane fiddle yard (8 lines per track)

The layout is 9.8m long (32ft 1 inch) By 3.7m wide (12ft 1 inch) which includes the operating area in the centre of the layout, it is based on the fictional place of “pathhead” although the basic track plan was based on new Cumnock station.
the layout was built by ayr model railway group, and run by them, until sold, to myself (Ronan Jackson) and operated by the ronansrailways on tour group in late august 2022.
the layout is Dcc on one line and dc/Dcc/live steam on the other, it has a 16 lane fiddle yard (8 lines per track), to operate the layout we use lenz Dcc controllers for Dcc operation, modelex dc controllers for dc operation, and hornby live steam for live steam operation,
And with gaugemaster point motors operating in the fiddle yard and cobalt Dcc operated point motors around in the front scenic area of the layout Dapol operating signals, sound effects through the layout, smoke, lights also can be operated on the layout
