I recently finalized the illustrations for the latest issue of the journal Index, and it’s always a pleasure to refresh one’s memory, especially in the neurological field with Sunderland’s classification of peripheral nerve injuries. Hand and nerve surgeons probably don’t need it, but it could be useful for others… So, I’m sharing this summary diagram for those of you who are healthcare professionals, which you can keep in your archives for future reference if needed. 🧠💡
Just finished the 50th issue of Index, which will be published in a few days! A huge thank you to all the authors and to the Profession Santé group for their incredible work over the years.

Sometimes the collaboration of two surgeons is essential to ensure the best treatment for a patient. In this case, a complex issue of a chronically re-ruptured triceps tendon on the right elbow, previously operated on multiple times, required reconstruction using a hamstring tendon graft harvested from the same-side knee.
Collaboration between Dr. Bernard Lallemand, upper limb surgeon, and Dr. Philippe Landreau, knee and shoulder surgeon.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) was established on December 2, 1971, marking the unification of seven distinct emirates: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al-Quwain, Fujairah, and Ras Al Khaimah. This formation created a federation, bringing together these individual emirates, each with its own ruler and characteristics, under a single national identity. The UAE has since evolved into a significant political, economic, and cultural force in the Middle East.

For ACL reconstruction, Hamstrings are versatile grafts. They can be customized to match the patient's needs. Surgeons can choose the diameter and length of the graft to suit the patient's size and activity level. The choice of graft should be made considering individual factors.
