R. Alex Jackson is the author of Life of a Salesman, a posthumously published memoir. This page is managed by his daughter and granddaughter.
Read of a time that we will never experience. In 1935, Alex was born on the family farm in Comber, Ontario, Canada. He grew up without electricity or indoor plumbing and faced hardships which many people today would find difficult to imagine. One year ago today, my mom and I (Alex's daughter and granddaughter) published Life of a Salesman. Wow! Hard to believe. Thank you to everyone who's purchased the book. 🥰 I imagine my grandpa (Alex) would be speechless.

As you know, we’re donating all book sale profits to Peterborough’s Riverview Park & Zoo. This weekend, we made our first donation and saw the plaque in memory of Alex on the donor wall. Thank you for your support and making this possible!

Peterborough's Riverview Park & Zoo is back opened. When in the area, I encourage you to check out the zoo Alex loved so much. :)
The Park and outdoor Zoo area is now open 8:30 am to dusk, daily. We ask all visitors to protect the animals by keeping distanced or choosing to wear a mask. Welcome back, we’ve missed you. -Cm

Peterborough's Riverview Park and Zoo is now OPENED! Next time you're in Peterborough, I recommend checking them out.
We are pleased to announce that the outdoor Zoo Area is now open! We are very excited to welcome everyone back! While in the Zoo Area, visitors will be asked to use masks/face coverings, observe social distancing, and to maintain distance from the animals.

Do you have pr***en or teenage children or grandchildren? If so, this is one of the many words of wisdom Alex shares which may speak to them. It certainly spoke to me (his granddaughter) when he told me this at age 17.

I had the opportunity to visit two years ago when I was in where Alex was born. I recommend checking it out if you're ever in the area. The museum is steeped in history with a large collection of interesting items.

I went to Riverview Park & Zoo many times when I was young. One of my favourite memories is going on the train! If you've been to it before, what do you enjoy the most?
