Relaunch Mic Drop Maths Podcast!, organized by Whitney Wells-Corfield Hi, my name is Whitney Wells-Corfield and I am the host of Mic Drop Maths, th… Whitney Wells-Corfield needs your support for Relaunch Mic Drop Maths Podcast!
We love numberless word problems, too!
It’s important to remember who matters not what matters. The child matters more than the score and they should never feel differently. 🎤
2/22/22 is a palindrome, which means it reads the same backwards as forwards. Know what else is cool? At 10:02 PM it will be 22:22 on 2/22/22!
Is this date super meaningful in some way? No, not really. It’s actually quite useless, however, it’s fun! Humans invented a calendar system to count days and months and this particular day happens to be full of twos. Humans enjoy palindrome dates so much because they are rare AND because humans love patterns! Why do you humans love patterns? Because humans are hardwired to find patterns satisfying, which is exactly why we love math! Math is all about the study of patterns. With that said, Happy Twosday! May you love math today and all days!
Students need to know that adults try and fail, fail some more, and keep trying! To achieve skills in maths (and other subjects) we have to risk going out of our comfort zones. That’s where the most learning takes place!
Get ready for our next episode all about developing a math mindset!

Where are you listening to Mic Drop Maths from?
When people ask us the mission of Mic Drop Maths we eagerly answer with, “To get people to love maths.” Many think we are joking or that loving maths is impossible, but we are absolutely serious. Let’s look passed its unfortunate reputation and see what it is really all about.
If had to summarize “What is maths?” in ten words we would say, “Maths is beautiful and about creativity, imagination, and making sense.”
How would you describe maths? Let us know in the comments below 🎤
Two new episodes will drop this month! 🎤 We are stoked to drop some fresh content your way. We hope you tune in and share with teachers, families, and students you know. Everyone has a maths brain! 🧠
