This one was about crossing that finish line πŸ’ͺ My first postpartum half marathon undertaken today, 13 weeks after I returned to running.

I went from the nothing to 13.5 miles in 13 weeks!!! All I can say is HOLY F*** IM PROUD OF THIS ONE

This mentally really tough, physically it was so hard in those last 3 miles but I just kept telling myself ITS NOT OVER UNTIL YOU DECIDE IT IS.

I DID IT πŸ§‘πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

I've been pretty quiet on here this week, just tuned into family time for our week off, away in the Isle of Wight.

Here's some snaps from our family week. We had a wonderful time. Great weather, lots of time spent outside walking & playing in the sand. Afternoon tea for my birthday & morning sea swim with Luna for her birthday too. Lots of walking, cafe stops & cuddles βœ¨οΈπŸ’•

Seeing out chapter 25 with the most beautiful late night run in my uk favourite placeβœ¨οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸŽ‚

Chapter 25 was a tough year we lost my Grandad, John (where JJs middle name is from) & Holly.

Then I was so sick for 32 weeks of my 40 + 4 pregnancy and had a really difficult labour, birth & recovery.

However, I also had 6 months of my handsome son & 9 months of my Loopy Luna ✨️

We spent so much more time outside than ever before, appreciated the little things more & I think after it all me and D are stronger than ever ✨️

Onwards & upwards...cheers to 26 tomorrow πŸŽ‚

7 sweet miles out on the trails this morning πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

I co slept almost all of last night, which meant he managed almost 3 x 2 hour blocks. This is categorically the most sleep I've had in over 4 weeks. (1 x 2 hours, 1 x 1.5 hours & another 1 x 1.5 hours, which is frankly lush).

It paid off in miles today πŸ™Œ (plus D is home for childcare, which was insane as I didn't have to rush).

Nice to be pushing the distance, I won't lie. This was dam tough towards the end, but 3rd 10km distance and 1st distance over that in over a year now πŸ₯΅πŸ₯³

This mumma got this πŸ’ͺβœ”οΈ

Out of Office for 5 days for our first trip away with JJ πŸ₯°

This morning we hiked the costal path, my first real 'hike terrian' carrying a baby in the sling, it was actually okay, a little hairy in places but we survived.



I'm so glad I've kept myself fit because hiking in the heat with a 4 month old on the front requires that at minimum πŸ˜†

I might not have my desired belly back to how it was before, but I'm slowly learning that my bodies capable of other things and that aesthetics aren't always everything. There isn't a snap back, or a quickk fix to this journey.

I am here to enjoy every single moment with my son, who I grew all by myself. I'm here to smile and laugh at the moments he does, cuddle him when he cries, respond to his every demand 24/7 a day.

Time to cut some slack mamma's, because we are all working double full time and most working actual jobs on top like myself.

I didn't know how much we needed this time off until we got on that plane. Its been so exciting starting to show JJ the world 🌎 My 8 weeks mat leave certainly wasn't 'a holiday as lots of people think it is' so this was really needed.

Meanwhile, Luna is running the helm from home with the help of her sister Rosie 🐾

Life's too short to skip these moments, soak up the views, take silly photos, don't worry about the skin that has imperfections, eat the dessert & enjoy a glass. Life's about balance and 5 days out of routine won't harm a fly. You won't sit on your death bed thinking I'm so glad I had just lettuce on holiday. πŸ˜†

I'm a female coach with a holistic approach to training, nutrition and your mental health. I'm a mum to an 11 week old boy & an 8 month old cocker spaniel so I've more than got my work cut out for me πŸ˜† But more than anything I understand people, particularly the women I work with.

For some training is about hitting personal bests in 6 week training blocks, for others it's about being about to run around after their kids. Both are valid reasons to train.

For me I've always enjoyed weight training and running. But now more than ever I'm relearning the importance of staying strong as a women, not just for physical prevention of diseases such as osteoporosis, but for the relief against some crazy hormones we have going on, and support for our mental wellbeing.

I'm approach and lucky enough to have a private studio here in Liphook for training.

I have a range of qualifications shown above and more o my website including a degree in social science, which helps with my understanding of children and adults.

Imagine showing your children that being active is a choice, something fun, something we have the privilege of doing. Rather than a choir πŸ’­

Teach your children to celebrate what their bodies can do, not what they should look like or what they ideally should be.

Ingrained into our children in current society is a fairly negative approach to exercise and our bodies, particularly focused on exercising to change how we look, because how we look isn't good enough.

Let's turn this on its head, because we are all guilty of it, myself included - Imagine saying to your child, your going to the gym today because your not skinny enough, and you need to have abs⁉️

You wouldn't, you wouldn't say that to your child, so if you're telling yourself that's your reason why then stop βœ‹οΈ

Instead reframe your thinking, I'm going to the gym today to build strength and get fitter so I can feel my best, keep up with my children, and stay healthy. What a privilege πŸ‘

Children learn through copying, so let's start them believing from a young age that it's a PRIVILEGE to exercise, yes it keeps us healthy, yes it might help our bodies look a particular way, but it's by no means a punishment.

Next time you want to beat yourself up about your body image, think what you would tell your child πŸ€” & then cut yourself some slack ✨️
