Happy New Year! I hope this post finds you all doing well!
This Spring, the Lord has given me the opportunity to go to Orphanage Emmanuel in Honduras for a week, with a team from Union. This place and the people there are very dear to my heart, since I have grown up visiting Orphanage Emmanuel every year with my church in GA. The Lord has used my time at Orphanage Emmanuel to teach me so much about His love. A staff member who grew up at Emmanuel shared once in his testimony that, although he did not have family members sometimes visit him like the other children at Emmanuel did, he knew God loved Him because teams would come from America to see him. I pray that my trip to Honduras communicates God’s love to the children there in a similar way.
While we are in Honduras, a large aspect of serving Orphanage Emmanuel will include interacting with and pouring into the children there. We will participate in water activities, daily “circle time” Bible Studies, and lots of soccer games, all of which are opportunities to see kids who may not always feel seen and to show them the joy Christ brings. Additionally, we will assist with any projects on the farm and around other areas of the campus. Through these and many other ways, we will serve and encourage the staff and volunteers who give up so much to be the hands and feet of Jesus in these children’s lives.
I am so thankful for the role the body of Christ plays, and I would like to invite you to partner with me on this mission. The biggest way you can join my team of supporters is by praying for me. Here are some specific requests.
o Pray that my teammates and I would grow closer to each other this semester. Pray for our hearts and minds as we prepare to serve this spring.
o Pray for the children at Orphanage Emmanuel and specifically those who are non-believers. Pray for the Lord to prepare their hearts and draw them to Him. Pray that He would give opportunities to speak truth and work in their lives through us.
o Pray for our partners—the many staff and long-term volunteers at Orphanage Emmanuel. Pray that our team would provide rest, refreshment, and encouragement for them. Pray that God would continue to provide for their physical, spiritual, and financial needs.
o Pray for the potential challenges that we may face. Pray that we would not be hindered by language barriers, that our team would be unified, for safety and no complications in travels, and for physical health throughout the week.

October 13-16, I have the opportunity to go to New York City for a mission trip with Calvary Baptist (my church here in Jackson)! It will be a super quick trip, but I’m so excited for what God has in store! Calvary has been one of the biggest blessings of life in jackson, and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to connect with more members and serve alongside them!
That being said, I do have a little money to raise! The trip will cost about $400 (minus meals)

Hi friends! I'm Leah! I love painting, doing calligraphy, and embroidering! I like making pretty things! I love Jesus and I love worshipping Him! I really love music! I love experiencing other cultures and going on missions trips! Next fall, I am going to be attending a 9 month apologetics and leadership gap year program called Impact 360! During the gap year, we have the amazing opportunity to spend a month in Brazil for a cultural immersion/missions trip! We are encouraged to raise funds for this! My goal is $4,000. Once I meet this goal I will use the money raised here for future trips to Honduras, donations for Orphanage Emmanuel, and any other missions opportunities the Lord gives me! All of the proceeds from this page will go to missions! I believe God's heart for us is to go out into all the world (including your own neighborhood!) and share the Gospel and to love the least of these!
