Fast forward to May πΎ
Collaboration is key in making yoga available and accessible for more communities.
This project is so surreal π€π₯°
Finally, I am able to use my professional brand marketing and business development skills in an industry & community I love. β€οΈβπ₯
Yes, ITS A YOGA STUDIO! πππ
It's not mine. But I did help bring it to life.
We took what we learned from the studios and teachers who have come before us - the industry has changed so much over the past two years. A whole generation of yoga studios have closed down and moved on - and here we are, the next generation of yoga&wellness studios trying to make our mark in the community.
In this journey, we try our best to make sure to find the balance between fair arrangements for teachers, students taking classes from competent teachers, and the studios profitability and sustainability.
In this journey, we will make our own mistakes and learn from them.
We will grow with our faculty, as our studenys will grow with us.
We will seemlessly integrate technology while maintaining the hospitality and care of our brand.
We will serve with integrity, and in order to do that, we will ensure our profitability and sustainability.
We will support the growth of our teachers, so that they can support our students.
At the end of it all, we shall hope our best is enough to create positive shifts in the industry and community.
Thank you to the owners for their trust. Thank you for their commitment. Thank you for their openness.
Today hit different.πΊ
40+ Cabalens from Kapampangan Yogis came together to practice 108 Salutations - i had the honor to assist, adjust and teach. To again be able to physically be with a community is in many ways enriching as it is humbling.
Thank you, Oro Yoga Wellness The Yoga Playroom Dina Frias Zulueta Movement Space and the entire community for welcoming me with so much trust and generosity.
Looking forward to more collaboration and community practices with you ππ΅π
HIITYoga is hitting Pampanga π«π¦π«
The yoga studio always feels like home π
Ive spent more than 10years of my life practicing and teaching in yoga studios - i practically grew up here. I lived many new beginnings and ends, Ive been broken and rebuilt - with many yoga studios as my witnesses.π
This 2024, I am welcomed in my hometown by the Kapampangan yoga community with much love and respect - one of the many surprises of coming back to my roots.
Thank you Oro Yoga Wellness The Yoga Playroom for my first studio classes of 2024. See you soon, The Movement Space and Village Yoga π«Ά
Over the past 3years, perspective and teaching on hands on adjustments have changed. With great consideration for informed consent, trauma and injury - we've gone from high-contact and skin to skin, to minimal or no touch assists.
Personally, I love giving and receiving manual (high-touch) assists. These make me feel loved and seen during class. As a teacher, I used to "man handle" my students into their binds, squish them with the weight of my body in forward folds.
It comes with a big caveat: as a teacher, it is incumbent upon us to know anatomy and kinetics (not just shapes and asana prescriptions).
Secondly, we come into assists with an intention to lead the student into their own exploration of the practice - NOT pushing them, NOT forcing the shape, NOT to insist on our own way to get into the pose, NOT to assume we know our students bodies' limits more than they do.
Lastly, put every touch in the context of our own humble service (rather than proud "guru" complex ie I know better, let me show you) and compassion (rather than high-powered productivity ie "achieve" this pose to progress in your practice.
What're your thoughts on manual assists and adjustments?
The yoga studio always feels like home π
There's always a magical feeling being a witness to my students' yoga journey - the wonder in their eyes, the discovery in their bodies, the brightness of their energy. Being able to guide you through the holistic process of yoga is not only a heavy responsibility, but also a true honor. π

Let's hop on a quick chat or call to get to know each other more π²
Everybody has a Day 1. πͺ·
This was mine as a Yoga teacher - taken a few days before we officially graduated from our RYT200 I Go Beyond Yoga with our teacher-trainers, Anna Carbonnel and Clayton Horton. We were all on a yoga-high, and were so lucky to have had a circle of mentors, friends and a studio to support our teaching dreams.
I couldn't have imagined that over a decade later, I wouldve co-facilitated the studios several Teacher trainings for BeyondYoga with my own teacher Anna. I continue to be inspired by my batchmates as they shine and trailblaze in their own paths.
What'a your Day 1 like?
Why is this Mentoring program unique? πΊ
The question is: is it meant for you? π
Which one is Yoga? π§
Louder for the yogis at the back π«
Yogis in the Philippines, especially teachers like myself, can make ourselves heard MORE - so that more people can know, understand and practice Yoga. Here's what I mean:
Yoga is such a "hype" nowadays because the circumstances of the past 3years have proven both its accessibility and effectivity.
Covid has taught us how important overall health is, especially our respiratory health and we learned the value of our breath. Lockdowns have proven that movement contributes to the sustainability of our healthy lifestyle and that yoga can be helpful in maintaining that. Isolation and social distancing has given us an appreciation of silence, solitude and internalization - including meditation and mindfulness.
β¨οΈβ¨οΈβ¨οΈ
Yes, advocate for the mobility and flexibility related to the asana practice of Yoga.
Yes, advocate for the relaxation and ultimately, peace, that comes as a result of meditation and mindfulness.
Yes, advocate for the kindness and empathy that is inevitable in the practice of the values of ahimsa and brahmacharya.
βοΈβοΈβοΈ
Here's where I think we, as advocates get it wrong: WE STOP THERE. We become so attached and invested in the "good", the "love and light", and the "positive" of Yoga - all of which are true, but are also PRODUCTS OF A PRACTICE. We, as advocates and especially teachers, can be "on a high" because our confidence is boosted by positive reinforcement. Maybe also because its only these positive end goals that bring the students and the opportunities in.
What I mean is:
Also, be loud enough to be heard when advocating for the struggle and discipline of daily practice and lifestyle changes.
Also, be clear enough to be understood when teaching about asana that is difficult but not painful.
Also, be humble enough to admit you are not always a teacher. Rather always, a student.
Enhance your teaching practice for the new year ahead β¨οΈ

What role does food play in my mindfulness practice? π¦
You're probably eating or drinking 2-5x a day. That means: you have 2-5 opportunities per day to pause, breathe, focus on your senses, listen to your body and be mindful of your thoughts and emotions. π
Take a 4-8 breaths before digging in. π¨
Look and describe your food.π€€
Smell your coffee/tea.ππ½
Notice the sensations in your mouth, tongue and teeth when you take that first bite.π€€
Hold on to your tummy in the middle of your meal to get an extra feel of how hungry or full you are.π€°π«
Observe the change in the way you breathe while eating.π
After the meal, express a note of gratitude for the nourishment you have received.π
How many times have you gobbled up your food and have had your water, coffee or tea in a rush? βοΈπ΅
Join me at YogaFarm at August 19 - 20 as we focus on conscious consumption as a form of mindfulness and meditation.
Let's talk about meditation and stillness in our urban jungle. π’π¦π«
Are we capable of taking restful, focused and mindful moments even amongst the busy-ness of the city noise and productivity pressures ? π€π€π€
A Minute of Mindfulness π
What can you hear?
What do you see?
How do you feel?
Breathwork + Movement. Both can be simple and effective. β¨οΈπ
Day 1 of the July batch of YogaFarm at Estancia Primavera - students from different age groups taking a mental health break.
We assess.
We let go.
We listen.
We search.
We connect.
We bring a renewed energy to our daily lives and significant relationships.
I went off grid for a week, and I feel so lost in myself.
I feel every hole and void that needs to be filled.
I feel every wound, scab and callus in my heart.
And this is why mindfulness, yoga, meditation and healing is not always light, love and peace of mind. Those are byproducts of a deeper, longer journey. And most times, that journey involves difficult terrain and a cycle of dark tunnels.
But there is blue skies and calm waters at the end of the journey. And "the moment" we need to focus on and work on is right now - not the "later" or "yesterday".
For many of us, late nights and early mornings are the only timeslots we have to take care of ourselves - I'd like to be there for you.
Vinyasa classes during "odd hours" - message me at 09164552888 or here via IG or FB to book your slot.
There' actually quite a lot to learn when we are physically silent - our ears slowly shift attention to the chirping birds and buzzing insects, our feet draws its focus to the moist grass and soil beneath us, and our mind creates a void that can be filled with light reflection.
Join us every month at YogaFarm at Estancia Primavera and give yourself that time and space to rewire your brain, heart and soul.
Message me at 09164554888 for more info.
Yoga is not just about going with the flow. Yoga is not just about music and movement. Yoga is not just about calm and centered.
Sometimes, Yoga can be physically challenging. Yoga can be unusual to mind. Yoga can be loud yet clear. Yoga can be unsettling yet grounding.

Daily life is all about motion. Most often, its in FAST FORWARD mode. π«’
Taking breaks feels like a privilege rather than a necessity, and caring for your body-mind and mind-body isn't accessible anymore.
We built YogaFarm at Estancia Primavera as an monthly open invitation to begin a habit of healing, nurturing, moving slower and rebuilding from the inside.
