We have some exciting news from this past weekend we will share this week but first and foremost we’d like to wish all racing Dads a Happy Father Appreciation Day!
Here at Osborn Racing we are blessed enough to have a very versatile individual who invests their blood, sweat, and tears into this program. For those of you who don’t know, we are a sole independent team with no Factory backing but that has not stopped this man from figuring out how to make Cory competitive. He’s in the garage about 5 nights a week, he’s constantly researching and trying to figure out how to make these things go fast. He is our backbone.
James Osborn don’t stop being the role model you are, we appreciate you❤️
We also couldn’t make it possible without the following vendors and supporters below
J&R Collision Centers, Steven R. Wolke, Attorney at Law, Hair by Alexis .DB Motorsports, Lawson Speed Shop, The Automall Of Effingham, Skintastic By Sheila, ROUX Helmets, Minus273.

New Castle Motorsports Park KRA #1.

Practice 1: N/A
Practice 2: P2/19
Quali: P5/19
Final: P4/19

Started the weekend quick! We had traffic issues in qualifying. We made our way to a podium position in the final and lost it at the line by less than a second.
Aside losing the last step on the podium, we still had an overall solid weekend. We showed top 3 speed, had clean racing, & brought everything home in one piece.

We’re back at NCMP April 16th for KRA #2. Check out some quick clips and snaps from this weekend!👇

Huge thank you to the ones who help behind the scenes and support our journey including J&R Collision Centers, The Automall Of Effingham, Skintastic, Hair by Alexis, Steven R. Wolke, Attorney at Law, Minus273, & ROUX Helmets.

Drop a gear n disappear!👋
Last second decision here as Cory proceeds to expand his racing resume, we ventured to TNT Kartways in Quincy, IL this weekend and wheeled a 6 Speed KZ 125cc Shifter. Now before this point Cory had driven practically every go kart motor package beside anything with a gearbox, we had an opportunity this weekend and he adapted incredibly well as he always does. Conditions were far from ideal as we lapped this beautiful machine in 30 degree weather and froze just a bit but couldn’t pass up the opportunity. We’d like to take a moment to show a huge amount of appreciation to one of the best guys in the sport we know Cameron Stock. He is easily one of the most laid back and selfless people we’ve met in the industry and we couldn’t thank him enough. Also a shoutout to a couple of a good friends Riley and Avery Scott for coming out and giving some tips and pointers and freezing their bums off just for Cory to gain an experience. What a group of people, thanks again guys and can’t wait to see you again. Is this the next addition to the Osborn Racing fleet?🧐 Next up Daytona International Speedway next month for Kartweek! (Since Facebook is incredibly dumb and won’t allow you to post pictures and videos in the same post on a “Page” vs a “Profile” we’ve attached some more pictures and videos in the comment section below!)

Stay turned for updates!

Cory Osborn brought home his first KA100 KRA win at New Castle Motorsports Park in a STACKED field. As many of you know New Castle has been our most commonly raced circuit this year but also our first season here and this track is none for the weak.. Always incredibly talented and competitive fields throughout all classes, and we had to learn that the hard way. From barely making top 10 at the beginning of the season, to battling for top 5, making our way on the podium a couple times, and today FINALLY scoring our first win! Huge amounts of appreciation to everyone who congratulated Cory after the race and for those who continuously show their support. Also got to see our good hometown buddy Colin Kiefer with Kiefer Campgrounds can’t thank that family enough as they’re the ones who showed us the ropes from the very beginning. Thank you to DJ and Dane Mcmahon with McMahon Motorsports, The Automall Of Effingham and for all they do behind the scenes along with ROUX Helmets, and Minus273 for the freshest helmet+glove combo in the game! (PSA: exhausts are great for heating up breakfast burritos if you don’t have a microwave around;)
Race recap:
Qualifying: Felt pretty good, pushed wind the entire session so no draft. Came in just a couple tenths off the leaders. P3.
Final: Rolling off P3 in the final, settled into our starting spot on the start and begin tracking down 2nd place. Pushing the kart incredibly hard Cory kept the leaders in sight and made the move on 2nd place about midway through, now with a decently large gap to the leader the mission was ON! Continuing to put absolutely everything in the kart he finally tracked down the leader to about a kart length before lap traffic played a factor. Cory ended up making due better with the traffic and took the lead with about 5 laps remaining. With a nail biting last few laps we held onto the lead and brought home the win!

THANK YOU ELKHART. An overwhelming amount of emotions this past weekend as we ventured to Elkhart IN, for the Elkhart Riverwalk Grand Prix Cory not only competed in his first street race but brought home the WIN in a photo finish, last corner move! 🏆 What an honor it was to be racing in this event let alone bringing home the top step of the podium, the hype behind this event is so REAL! So much appreciation to USAC Racing and the city of Elkhart for the huge amount of support along with Margay Racing LLC for all the help this weekend and putting on such a great spec series. Huge shoutout to some absolute phenoms behind the wheel Riley Scott and for some great clean racing along with a congrats to with , and all the other Elkhart winners! You can be sure to see Osborn Racing at much more street racing events as it seemed to welcome Cory quite well. Also a thank you to ROUX Helmets, The Automall Of Effingham, and Minus273 for the continuous support.

Always a fun day at the Gateway Kartplex, had pretty good odds this weekend of bringing home some hardware, so we brought home both wins! Cory is 6 for 6 for Supercomp Wins yet this season!🏆 ROUX Helmets Minus273

15/07/2022

Late Post!
Average weekend this past one was as we attended KRA #8 on Sunday at New Castle Motorsports Park. A top 5 finish but really felt we had podium potential, full race recap below.👇
Practice 1: This session was simply just to see the configuration as we were unable to get the kart setup with the proper gear or anything due to a faulty alarm clock issue left us scrambling to the grid with Gateway Supercomp’s setup. But we got to at least see the track.
Practice 2: Finally getting the kart actually setup for the track we went out much faster and felt much more prepared for qualifying.
Quali: Solid session put down fast laps but we were the lead kart of the pack pushing wind most of the session. Felt like I said had easy top 3 speed going only 3 tenths off the leader and less then a tenth off 2nd and 3rd. P4/12
Race: Rolling off P4 for the final we felt we had easy contention at a top 3 finish, we maintained our position at the start and throughout the first half of the race and was actually closing in on the final spot of the podium until we made a slight fuel miscalculation and motor began to sputter coming out of corners and was unable to catch the 3rd place driver but barely maintained our position. Finishing P4/12 for the weekend!
Huge thanks to the ones following along and the ones who help all this happen including The Automall Of Effingham, ROUX Helmets, and Minus273 for all the support they’ve given us.

29/06/2022

Check out this awesome clip of some great shots taken this past weekend!
We had a decent showcase at the Gateway Kartplex for rounds 4+5 of the Ignite Series (4 Cycle) but could’ve had some better finishing position if things would’ve gone our way.
Practice 1: Out the box we were FAST going P2 out of a solid showing of 25 karts with practice tires so we anticipated even more pace when we bolted on the race tires. P2/25.
Practice 2: Kept our practice 1 spot still P2 going into qualifying, feeling confident. P2/25.
Qualifying: We bolted on the race tires hoping to find the couple tenths it took to capture pole position. But somehow lost ALOT of pace dropping back to a gutting P10 to start final #1. Still unsure of what our lack of pace was.
Final #1: After the rough quail session we started much further back then where we felt our pace really was so Cory’s main goal was to get to the front. Starting P10 with a lot of initiative to move forward Cory did just that, making moves all the way up into P4 at one point then losing 1 position on the final lap going P5 with a 5 position gain. Lots of potential shown, P5/25.
Final #2: The format this weekend for determining the starting position for the second final definitely didn’t work in our favor. They take your second fastest lap in qualifying and that determines your starting position for final #2, well since we struggled that quail session we still started P9 after just finishing P5 in final #1 and setting the 4th fastest lap, so we were frustrated with our starting position once again and had the same goal for final #2.. MOVE FOWARD as we knew we were easily a top 3 kart. Cory once again accomplished the mission as he moved up 5 spots into P4 and was tracking down the last step on the podium but just a couple laps short from grabbing the 3rd place position. P4/25.
Overall a fun weekend of racing as Cory got to do what he loves doing most, making passes. But frustrating as we had podium speed but walked away with no hardware, a weekend off then back to New Castle Motorsports Park for the KRA series July 9th and 10th. Shoutout to our supporters ROUX Helmets and Minus273 for the “cleanest helmet/glove combo in the game!) Great improvement this past weekend on the KA 100 as we took on rounds 4 and 5 of New Castle Motorsports Park’s KRA Series, in New Castle Indiana. We scored a career high finish making the podium for the first time in the 2 cycle! Love seeing the progress in this new class and finally getting some confidence in the new machine.
Race Recap Below:
Saturday-
Practice 1: Wasn’t able to get the kart started and couldn’t make it out for the session.
Qualifying: Getting the first look at the track and still having motor issues we retired early from the session but did the best we could with the circumstances P14/18.
Pre-final: After finally getting the kart figured out we go into the pre final with a total of 3 laps on this new configuration but still had some great “back of the pack” racing making up 1 spot finishing P13/18. We got a good feel for the track as it was the first full session we completed and was much more prepared for the final.
Final: Starting P13 but feeling much more confident in the track and kart we made a few moves and found race pace finishing P10/18.
Sunday-
Practice 1: Got much more adapted to the track and kart and was on pace, looking for a good qualifying position.
Qualifying: Put some good laps down and put the kart P3 for the final! P3/18
Race: Starting our career best in the 2 cycle rolling off P3 for the final we hoped to maintain our position and make the podium. After a sketchy start and losing 4-5 spots as rain was beginning to dampen the track, Cory was determined to climb his way back and he did just that! From P3 to P8 back to P3. Making moves all the way back to his starting spot containing the podium finish!
Shoutout to with Comet Kart Sales for getting us up and going this weekend along with our usual supporters ROUX Helmets for the freshest helmet/glove combo in the game. Visit https://www.rouxhelmets.com and https://minus273.biz to get your own!

Another crazy fun weekend this past one as we ventured our way to Autobahn Country Club in Chicago but did not quite achieve the results hoped for. We showcased top 5 speed but was just not in the right places at the right time to showcase our true speed potential.
Qualifying: Lap times were incredibly tight this weekend as 3rd-20th were all within 3 TENTHS OF SECOND! Cory didn’t get the ideal qualifying session as he was held up in traffic a couple laps but still put the kart P12/31 karts but felt we had plenty to show for in the first final.
Final #1: Starting P12 we had hopes to move forward and did accomplish the mission Cory made some great moves and finished P8/30.
Final #2: Starting position was determined by fastest lap time in Final #1. Cory didn’t set the ideal lap due to being the lead kart of the pack pushing wind the entire race we started final #2 in a gutting P17/31 but knew that wasn’t where we should’ve been and planned on making up some spots. The kart came alive and Cory wheeled it up to P11 and was charging setting the 5th quickest lap of the race.
Overall a fun yet frustrating weekend as we had the pace but not the finishing position to show for it. Huge thanks for all those following along with Cory’s racing career as making some big steps by 2023.
Always a pleasure racing when there’s a wild roaming the grid as he takes some absolute heat content🔥📸
Shout out to for some of the freshest karting gear in the game, visit https://minus273.biz to check out all thing offered.
Can’t forget for keeping Cory’s noggin safe every weekend check out https://www.rouxhelmets.com to get one like his!
And of course Margay Racing LLC for giving a great platform to showcase the drivers ability. Onto New Castle this upcoming weekend for some KA 100 racing!

This past weekend was an interesting one, we took on the Ignite Challenge rounds 1+2 at the wonderful Gateway Kartplex in Madison, IL running the 4 cycle. We had some success but also battled some issues with things that were both in our control and out, also an absolute stellar amount of karts this weekend as the grid was filled with 34 karts in Ignite Senior!

Practice 1: Our rear bumper somehow was ripped off by lap 2 and was black flagged from the session. DNF
Practice 2: Was actually able to get a feel for the track as our practice 1 was cut short. Noticed on entry of straightaway we were lacking power. Not too good of a result. P12/34
Qualifying: Decided to make a couple changes that didn’t seem to help as our pace didn’t improve and was still lacking about a half second. Still felt underpowered. P17/34
Race 1: We felt we were getting out powered on the straight and decided to swap the motor. Starting P17 we were looking to be the hard charger in the final and make the top 10. Cory drove incredibly well and was on the move up into P6 until a lap kart got into his right rear and spun him out getting on the straight taking him out of the race. DNF
Race 2: After getting taken out by a lapped kart in lap 9/20 of the final we were still able to set the 12th quickest time so that’s where we began the race 2 final. Not satisfied with our race position hard charging was our main goal once again, looking to make the top 5. Once again Cory showcased his race craft and put the kart P4 to finish race 2, finally debuting the speed we needed all day but luck just wasn’t on our side most of it.

Overall a somewhat satisfying weekend as we finally found the pace we needed but battled the motor issue too long and can’t do much when you’re getting ran over. Thank you to all who came to support and as always it’s great seeing the Kartplex Family. This weekend we will be at the Indianapolis 500 the back at it next weekend in Chicago for rounds 3+4 of the Ignite Challenge.

Shoutout to ROUX Helmets for always keeping Cory’s noggin safe and Minus273 for the freshest karting gloves in the game.

It’s always a enjoyable time when you visit the good ole Mid-State Kart Club in Springfield, IL as the atmosphere is always pleasurable. We had a great/busy weekend running both 4 cycle and 2 cycle classes but a successful one, bringing home the win in KA100 and a 2nd place finish in Ignite.
🏆🏆
Cory had his hands full in KA 100 as he battled lap by lap all day with young phenom with Camp Lakewood Campground but was able to pull off the win by barley a kart length.🏆
Ignite was good racing as always as we started the final in P3 but made the move halfway through the race to pick up the extra step on the podium bring home P2.🏆
Huge shoutout to the backbone of this team James Osborn as his wrench was busy this weekend!
Double podium and couldn’t of enjoyed it more!

You could say Cory is really enjoying his new occupation! His work station today was the infamous Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the IndyCar Grand Prix. He’s so thankful to be apart of such a great association and couldn’t thank Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing for the opportunity. Check out this quick clip of what Cory’s everyday work environment consists of! Also catch us at the OG track Mid-State Kart Club this Sunday for MSKC Club Race #3 as we’ll be participating in Ignite Senior and KA Senior. From IndyCar Paddock to Go Kart Paddock, couldn’t ask for anything more!

The art behind starting something new is expanding knowledge and this season has been exactly that so far. The 2 cycle experience has been an absolute blast and an incredible learning experience, we’ve pushed our limits and put our experience to the test.
This past weekend we made our way back to New Castle Motorsports Park for round 2 of the KRA Series for more KA 100 racing. After missing most of the practice day Saturday due to some transportation and setup adjustments difficulties it was a late night.

Race day was an eventful experience.
Practice 1: After the late night the kart was feeling much better and had more pace then Saturday but still looking for just some slight pace (.3 tenths) to make the top 5 as the field was incredibly tight. P7/16.

Qualifying: We remained our practice position but was slightly held up throughout the session yet felt the kart had a lot more speed. P7

Race: Rolling off 7th we felt the kart was easily a top 5 possibly a top 3 kart as long as we stayed clean. After around 3 laps we were made up 1 position and on the hunt with the top 5 pack until things got hairy. Coming off the straight there was a slight entanglement which led to 2 karts sideways in the middle of the track, we tried avoiding but made slight right front contact resulting in a bent tie rod and pretty much concluding our race.
Recap: After a long weekend of searching for just the slightest bit of speed we finally cued off the pace we needed in the beginning of the race and had high expectations for a good result, until we took some mid race damage practically concluding our race. Overall such a fun weekend learning and expanding our race knowledge as now we are beginning to really understand this new class and chassis feeling we’re in contention for some good finishes and podiums soon! Stayed tuned for next weekend as we’re back at NCMP for round 3 of the KRA Series!
