Sometimes you just gotta go for it. you just got a find a melody. For months I was singing “standing by a lamp post” then I finally realized The six syllables should be: “won’t go back to that girl”. After that I tweaked all my other mumbling lyrics to fit the new theme. Love the process!!!

“Sunny House" the last song on my new album. A little acoustic moment to finish things off. I guess I started writing this song 3.23.20. Recorded myself just in case something good happened. The first thing I said on camera was. “Sunny House”. (A bit childish maybe) but I kept it, and kept the song simple like the title implies. As you can see in the video…I could barely fingerpick. 😂 After 2 years of playing everyday. I got much better.

A few people have asked me about gear. I can’t talk about gear without first mentioning this U87 microphone. When I started hearing the stories about this microphone from my dads great friend Hegg, my heart skipped a beat. This is exactly what I would need to ease my fear. To carry me thru. To feel connected, as if my dad was right there with me. I heard stories about how Mutt Lange refused to use the compressor on Heartbeat City cause he wanted to control it his own way. And about the multitude of singers who visited my dads basement to do takes on it. This is a real special privilege to be able to use. Thank you dad!

No sound. Working on a new lyric video for my next single. I have this super 8 film camera that I use, that has this great lens. No focus. It’s a atm camera lens and it renders images exactly like the human eye.

A little backstory on “Fall Away”

“Fall Away” was the first song that I have ever written in my life. Since my dad was such an amazing musician and songwriter, it never had occurred to me to ever make music myself. Someone was already doing it, and to me, he was the GOAT. So our family had that role covered. After he died I felt a desperate urgency to make more music. So “Fall Away” became the starting point to a passion that I never knew I possessed. I tried my hardest to channel everything that I had learned from him, and from the moment I started, I knew I wasn’t going to stop. Im so proud of the album, and I can’t wait to share it with you over the next months. I’m also so grateful to everyone who helped and encouraged me along the way. I appreciate u all!

About the song-
“Fall Away” is about waking up and realizing that your life has been turned upside down. Sometimes we realize this when it’s too late. When that happened to me, I found myself trying over and over again to see where it went wrong. Go over all the signs, fix it In my mind. When that got exhausting I found it better to let it fall away. Pick myself up for another day.
