Story: I had a fellow friend instructor tell me (when we both worked at a gym in CA in the 90s), her big dieting secret - gummy bears & wine! 😳🤢
A few years later (early 2000s at a gym in UT), a fellow instructor told me her secret was iceberg lettuce & butter spray! 🤯🤮 I had actually paid her $100 to train/coach me, but after I heard this I cut my losses and didn’t go back to her.
So many girls/women do damage to not only themselves, but others too - with bad nutrition tips. So this is just a reminder to you that not everyone you see out here on SM has the best practices. 😉

And cheers to this man of mine who had a birthday AND Father’s Day in the same weekend while I was gone helping a Girl’s Camp all day, prepping & teaching a Sunday School lesson to teens, and creating a homemade carrot cake!
He found joy in his time with our girls who were home and never complained about waiting for his gifts (and they weren’t big but totally meaningful). ❤️
We love our MAN of the house… he’s got us 5 girls and girl pup too! 👩🏻👩🏻👩🏼👩🏻👧🏻🐶 Surrounded by girls!! Just as he always wanted I’m sure! 🥰😘

So I’m going to slow down a bit more (like 2020) and enjoy my girls every day, because I know one day, my nest will be empty and I’ll be trying to get them to fly back to the nest to see me!

What’s a few favorite places you’ve been to?

🍓 Strawberry and Raspberry protein bowl: vanilla shake powder mixed into Greek or regular yogurt, topped with berries, almonds or pecans, and a drizzle of maple syrup.
🫐 Blueberry Power Bowl: fresh blueberries on top of Greek or vanilla yogurt, with crushed up chocolate peanut butter protein power balls! Add a drizzle or honey or agave if you’d like.

I’ve done a lot of home workout programs, taught a lot of gym formatted & freestyle classes, and this workout plan was really different.

The DCT-T (density complex tabata training) days, Tabata Cardio days, and Total Body workouts were formatted smart so you can hit multiple muscles at a time. So you get more done in a shorter amount of time!

I haven’t sweat so much in some of those workouts since my Turbo Kick days... but that’s another story! (Anyone else have a Turbo story?)

Ok - point is - you can do HARD THINGS and it can change you for the better! You can do 1 week, 3 weeks, and 9 week programs and live to tell about it!

9 years ago I had my last baby. 🥰🥺 Happy and sad because — I LOVE BABIES —- and so sad this was my last. But...
It was my 4️⃣th c-section and my doctor recommended to stop (even though we can have up to 5), but he said since this last pregnancy was more difficult to my lower back... he thought it best to not put my body thru one more, and at my age (40s). I agreed... but I secretly wanted 2 more! 👶🏻👶🏻🤫
So here I am early January to March 2012. I waited my 6 weeks to workout, drank my water, nursed my baby, took care of the other 3 kiddos (age 3, 6, and 9), and ran my coaching business with my team.
Was it hard? Sure! But anything that’s hard just makes you stronger and you realize that you can do hard things! It’s great to look back and see how far you’ve come.
Take a moment today to think about where you were 9 years ago... be proud and thankful for the lessons learned and strength gained. And let’s look forward to the next 9! What will it look like for you? Maybe it’s time to plan it out a little better. Maybe it’s a total re-haul but that’s okay. Write it down and manifest it.

Protein French Toast anyone? 🍞
You can also make protein pancakes and waffles! 🥞🧇
For French toast:
🍞 Choose your favorite bread (preferably a healthier version like )
🥚 Scramble an egg and add cinnamon on top. Pro tip: you can even add protein powder to the eggs as a bonus or if you don’t have bread with protein in it.
🍞 Dip bread into egg mixture on both sides, place in a pan on med heat and cook both sides.
🫐 Serve with berries and pure maple syrup and enjoy!
Bonus Pro tip: To make 2 pancakes🥞 or 1 waffle🧇... scramble 1 egg🥚, mash 1 banana🍌 and mix together. Add 1 scoop of protein powder to the mix. Use as your batter to make your yummy and healthy breakfast!
