Touro University California’s College of Pharmacy will be shifting from a 2+2 model to a 3-year model beginning in the Fall of 2023. Current and prospective students may have many questions related to this shift, so we sat down with Dr. Jim Scott, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, and asked three questions and got three answers.

It has been a busy stretch of time for Touro University California College of Pharmacy grad Dr. Fatima Hernandez.

Dr. Hernandez began working with Touro CARES MVP program, an effort to bring COVID vaccines and educational materials to underserved populations throughout Solano County. As a result, thousands of Solano residents have been vaccinated against COVID, including two very special guests for Dr. Hernandez – one of her brothers and her mother.

The City of Fairfield recently recognized this effort. City officials formally recognized Hispanic Heritage Month and presented the proclamation to Dr. Hernandez.

“Accepting the proclamation was Dr. Fatima Hernandez of Touro University, who has worked tirelessly in Solano County to educate and vaccinate the underserved community against COVID-19. The Touro CARES MVP program brings mobile clinics to underserved communities. Dr. Hernandez heads the program, with guidance and input from Dr. Lucinda Chan of the Touro University California College of Pharmacy.”

☕First jobs are something of a right of passage for most teen-agers. But sometimes circumstances conspire against the anxious and the willing. A pandemic can do that. So can a disability.

For Tristan Lee, it was both. Tristan was born with Down Syndrome, a condition that informed the decision of his mother, Angela Lee, to obtain a master’s degree in special education from Touro University California’s Graduate School of Education (GSOE).

So, what does a parent do when their developmentally disabled child’s dream to work in a coffee shop is unattainable? “We decided to make him his own coffee shop,” Lee said. But this was to be no ordinary coffee shop. Follow the link find out about this special!
