Sometimes you have to pop out…

Coffee, Cameras and Community and Coffee For All (presented by ) is a collaborative event thrown by The Color of Coffee Collective with the intentional desire of bringing together people from within a community over common bonds in the third spaces that service them.

This weekend we had the pleasure of linking up with in Oakland, CA at where we held a panel to highlight artists and their connection to the city, the importance of third spaces and our support of them in community, and how to respect others while staying creative.

After the panel, the group jumped on the 19th St BART and traveled to The Mission in San Francisco where we traveled a photowalk created by event manager Michael McGee Jr to visit historic murals, local coffee shops ( and ) where we were able to hear from the owners about their journey, and ended at store in a The Mission where we had drinks, food, and coffee education from the Fellow Team, , and .

This event is our way of establishing a culture of community in areas outside our direct reach. We understand that whether it be in specialty coffee, photography, or everyday life that we is always stronger than me. Thank you to all those who helped support like and .co, our panelists, the baristas at Kinfolx, and the staff at Fellow.

Sincerely,
Your friendly, neighborhood culture setters - The Color of Coffee Collective

This community builds bridges.

We had such an amazing time yesterday in Greenville, SC at Intersection location where we held a community cupping event and a DE&I panel discussion sponsored by ! ☕️

This event allowed us to have an open and honest conversation about specialty coffee, the gap in equity for those from BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities in it and how to do more to create more inclusion in our world.

We thank everyone who joined us and to all of those who participated in the conversation, asking questions and allowing yourself to be receptive to an uncomfortable conversation. 🤝🏽

Our friends at are raising capital from the community to build a new roasting facility and cafe in Highland Park, MI.

Martell Mason is co-founder and roaster for the Sepia Coffee Project and a native Highland Parker. In his own words:

One of the first indicators of development usually comes in the form of new eateries. While development certainly brings much needed investment to previously neglected neighborhoods, it also means the most vulnerable members of that community are often unable to reap the benefits of this growth. In an effort to improve the enclave's food and beverage industry, building our roasting facility in Highland Park and opening its FIRST specialty coffee shop would bring great opportunities to the city. A big impact with a great return.

We believe in the Sepia Coffee Project's mission!
