Spring cleaning came early... I swear by this tip: Every day, I choose one shelf, drawer, folder, etc. to clean out. Set a 15 minute timer and get to work. Make quick gut decisions. Here's the kicker though... your stop after the timer goes off. Clean everything up, put everything away and enjoy your clean space. It's so much easier to do something fast for 15 minutes and be done, then take a full day to clean out the closet, have a giant mess, and be exhausted. Today, I'm tackling my bottom desk drawer. What on your to-do list today?

When it comes to our photos, it might be too much of a good thing. Hear me out ... 😳

Do you remember back to when you used a film camera to take photos and you had to decide what was 'photo worthy' because you could only take 24 or 36 photos before you ran out of film.

Now, we snap photos all the time! And we don't think about it! Next thing we know we have 20,000+ photos that we LOVE living on our phones! Which by the way weren't ever designed to be storage devices… This isn't new news but, your photos aren't safe there!

We have so many photos that just live either in an online gallery, our phones, and our hard drives and just collect digital dust.

And we all know, that technology is never 100% reliable… things crash and fail. And if worst comes to worst and you loose a hard drive, do you have a hard, printed copy of all your favorite photos?

The best way to preserve your photos to be certain that the next generation will see and enjoy them, is simply to print them.

From Dancing Queen to 18! Caitee and I have birthdays 8 days apart. When I was turning 4, I had a Little Mermaid birthday party, but the only gift I really wanted was to have my new baby sister there. And she was -- best birthday gift ever! I paraded her through the whole party & was the proudest big sister (still am!)! Taking today to celebrate her and the gift that she is in all of our lives! 🥰💕🥳

Alright ... lemme hear it: what's your New Year's resolution? If it's got anything to do with preserving your family photos for generations, then I'd suggest getting on the list to hear from me weekly—this could be your year!

To-do list: Purchase bubbly & a new calendar. Get rid of all "real clothes"—they're unnecessary. *Keep anything with sequins.*

I sat in the car after Cresse & Hazem's Secret Garden Wedding & took a deep breath … such relief and happiness! For two main reasons:

First, Cresse & Hazem's wedding was my last wedding of 2023! So grateful for all the beautiful weddings I was asked to photograph this year! It's never lost on me just how special my job is and what an honor to get to step into so many sweet couples' big day, spend time around all their family and friends, and be able to capture it in beautiful photos for them! 2023 is another one for the books!

Secondly, Cresse & Hazem's Wedding presented lots of challenges going into it... but SPOILER ALTER! The day ended up playing out so smoothly!! You can click the link in my bio to see how their day worked out so well & see SO MANY Dreamy photos from their wedding day!

Anyone know what day it is? Jk. But really ... this is that calendar sweet spot where the weeks are suspended, right?? What do YOU get away with during this time of the year you don't do normally? Hot chocolate on tap and no shower until noon like me? ;)

Christmas morning memories —

I remember when we were little and the four of us would have to wait at the top of the stairs, while my dad ran down with the camcorder to check and make sure that Santa had come and filmed us running down the stairs. And my poor mom would wait on her coffee to come down with us all together. The rule was there *must* be a 6 as the first number before we could wake Mom and Dad. I cannot imagine having Christmas morning energy in the house with 4 little kids and no coffee!

I've yet to find those videos, but I bet they are pretty darn special! The presents lasted .2 seconds under the tree before we had every tag flipped and the presents divided. Then we would open each present one by one... youngest to oldest.

Still some of our happiest memories!!

Our big kid Christmas looks a little different these years -- slower mornings, more coffee, and a pretty Christmas dinner that our younger selves would have never been able to sit through.

With our ever-growing family, I can't help but feel extra grateful for all our past Christmas memories. But most of all grateful for Jesus -- that little babe in a manager, that God would come to be with us & ultimately save us.

My grandma wrote a book!!! Yes, you read that right … At 82 years old my Grandma sat down and wrote a book all about her life!

If you have been following along with me for the past few years, then you may know that two years ago for Christmas we shared with my Grandma all about Storyworth and asked her if she would be interested in writing down her stories. She said yes and so for Christmas we gifted her with a subscription to Storyworth.

Only to realize that this was much more a gift for us than for her! It was a true labor of love for us on her end and we are so grateful!

Fast forward two years later to this Christmas… We were all sitting cozy around the fire up at the cabin when she gifted us the hardcover copy of her published book. Tears were shed. We read some of her favorite chapters together. This is a generational gift that shares not only the story of her life but the stories of our family, and the roots we come from, and it shares a period of history from the perspective of someone I love so dearly.

And one of the sweetest parts? She asked me to write the forward and be the one to introduce her book ... such an honor!

This was a long time coming ... Abby & Jordan's Andaz Wedding is live on the blog!! I photographed their wedding back in April and it was the most beautiful Arizona Spring Wedding! Curious about what it looks like to design a gallery wall from your session? Here's a peek into the process ...

After learning all about custom framing, this has quickly become one of my favorite things to offer my BG Moms. And the process is quite fun! 😊✨

1. Start with letting yourself dream a little ... Is there a wall you may want a gallery wall?

🖼️ Maybe in your entryway? Maybe you have an open concept and you would want it where your kitchen and living space meet ... somewhere you would see it every day and guests could enjoy it.

🖼️ Is there a room in your home that you would like to add two or three frames to? Maybe your master? Maybe you want a couple of photos of the kids hanging up in the playroom? Maybe you would like 2 frames in the nursery?

🖼️ Or do you have a spot in your home where you would like one big statement piece?

2. Start thinking is this gallery one that you are going to leave as is for a few or do you want to continue to update it yearly? If so, then we will do some more long-term planning and design the wall with that in mind.

3. I have my BG moms send in a photo of their wall and I'm able to show them exactly what the frames look like to scale in their room.

4. During the Design & Ordering Appoipement, we play around with different layouts and designs, choose the photos for each frame together, and order them!

And that's it! Before you know it your walls will be filled with beautiful photos of your family!

I always get this excited and hopeful feeling as I send off my client's full galleries! As I edit the photos, I look at each one and find myself wondering what they might do with these photos. Where will they put it or how will they use it?
