Time for one last solid training in today 1:30pm at the tri site for a sup then mountain bike.
Then make sure you taper before the race to come in with fresh legs.
You are sure going to need them. ๐
Another Saturday training ride done and dusted. Good work everyone!
Our paddle boarding training was on last night in Muri lagoon where we paddled for 50mins around the lagoon. It wasn't the best conditions with pouring rain and sometimes windy but we always say to train in all conditions as you never know what you will get on the day. (pic not from last night as the rain killed our photo opportunities ๐)
Tomorrow (Saturday) we have mountain biking training starting at 2pm from our usual tri site in Tikioki. We will be off road most of the time heading around the men's tri course. All welcome.
Only 8 weeks till race day!!
Our first test ride of the complete mountain bike course. Expect plenty of climbing, exciting descents, challenging bush tracks and some of the best scenery Rarotonga has to offer.

NEW EVENT!!!!
NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED!!!
Presenting....
ARIKI ADVENTURES CHALLENGE RARO
We have been super excited over here in Raro HQ getting all the details organised for this fantastic event to be held on 24th July 2021.
Grab the friend you want to slog it out with. The one who will stick with you through the highs and lows because this race is sure to challenge. Your team of two must stick together the entire time.
Base camp/ race registration/ start and finish lines will be in Tikioki at our usual Tri site.
To start you will jump on a stand up paddle board each and paddle 5.8km in our beautiful lagoon to the Sheraton site in Vaimanaga. Be sure to keep an eye out for turtles.
You will hand over your paddle boards to support crew and your running gear will be there waiting for you. The run will begin by heading up the Sheraton road then going bush for the next 7.4km going up and over the centre of the island. There will be lots of scrambling over tree roots and a bit of running. Your heart will be pounding thats for sure!
When you pop out of the bush on the town side of the island where your mountain bikes will be you will then navigate around our 44km course of bush valleys, water intakes, river crossings and back roads all the way back around the island to the finish line for a much deserved cold one.
With huge thanks to our main sponsor Ariki Adventures and our supporting sponsors
Ride Raro and The Bond Store this will be a fantastic event with some great prizes to be won.
