Cara Nome vintage compact circa 1940. This beautifully delicate compact fits perfectly in the palm of your hand.

For such a little thing it carries some weight and I imagine provided comfort for the owner whilst enjoying a night on the town...or did it?

The gold-toned case is in good condition, almost too good. The translucent paper disc still protects the red rouge that should be long gone by now and the powder puff rests barely used inside.

Was her evening interupted by tragedy? Was she jilted by a lover and vowed to never wear the shade of red again? Had she no sweet daughter to pass this delicate piece on too? More importantly, how did this stunning compact end up in Utah? Share your surmises in the comments below.
