God I thank you for allowing me to be what my students need me to be. I am forever grateful and I can’t thank him enough for what he’s doing in my life. Today we took a virtual vacation to Hawaii. My students loved Hawaii Math and learning to hula dance. ❤️
December 29, 1790 marks the death of the famous mathematician Thomas Fuller, known as the "Mental Calculator".
Died on December 29, 1790, the late Thomas Fuller was an African slave known for his skills in mathematics. He was captured in Africa by white slaves masters and shipped to the USA in 1724 when he was only 14.
He was so good at math, he could do unimaginable calculations. One day when they asked him how many seconds there were in a year and a half, he answered in approximately two minutes, 47304000. Pro-abolitionists and white philanthropists used his talent as proof that Black slaves were equal to Whites in intelligence.
Thomas Fuller, was a very great Mathematician, but unfortunately forgotten about history.
December 29 will mark the 233rd anniversary of his death.

Lines, Line Segments, and Rays | The Difference Between a Line, Line Segment, and Ray Welcome to Lines, Line Segments, and Rays with Mr. J! Need help with the difference between a line, line segment, and ray? You're in the right place!Whether ...
Parents,
We are currently on Unit 7 in Illustrative Mathematics learning angles and angle measurement.
In this unit, students learn new language for describing parts of geometric figures and practice identifying and drawing them. They also learn to talk about angles, measure their size, and draw angles of different measurements.
Section A: Points, Lines, Segments, Rays, and Angles
This section introduces students to some building blocks of geometric figures—points, rays, segments, angles, and lines. Students learn about parallel lines (lines that never intersect) and perpendicular lines (lines that meet or intersect at a right angle).
They also learn that an angle is a figure that is made up of two rays that share the same endpoint, called the vertex of the angle. Students practice identifying angles, noticing that angles are all around us and can have different sizes. ❤️
This week in Capturing Kids Hearts we are discussing courage. Ask your child what does courage mean?? 🦁
My students have been studying about the Empty Bowl project during Capturing Kids Hearts. We were not able to put the fundraiser together to feed the homeless so they decided to donate to some blessing boxes. I am so proud of the effort that they took to make that happen. They were so excited about helping others. We were able to donate to two locations.
Today my student represented my class for the Black History Quiz Bowl and she won 1st Place. I am so proud of Ja’Ciya. ❤️❤️
Love this! 🧡
I wouldn’t trade them for anything. ❤️❤️❤️ Super Bowl Headgear
